Some atheists don't trust "science" and the most famous is David Hume. A modern day example is Richard Rorty. There are many postmodern thinkers who would say that science is socially constructed, just like languages, ideas, morals, and so forth.

That is an interesting question. I attended a lecture that discussed the possiblility that because there is no evolutionary purpose for reasoning, then how can we trust reasoning. Reproductive fitness does not rely on intelligence such as ours, primitive species get along just fine without it. We cannot compare our reasoning against anything to even make sure we are actually right. Our reasoning could be completely flawed and we would never know because of the defect. It is something to chew on.

And Math too!

That can only be proven mathematically.

God said that bats were birds and that hares and rabbits chew the cud, so science must be wrong!

Burn these heretical books! Ban science and math!
