So why there are wars, poverty, hunger ?
Not to offend anyone, but most major wars were started and involved Christians ( i.e. civil war in US, WWI and II, The Crusades, 100 yr war, etc.)

I still don't understand why some of the responders are quoting the New Testament, and what the 12 guys supposed to have said (which are not written anywhere due to lack of proof).
Have you OWN answer, from the top of your head. Don't need research for that.
IBTW, wars are mostly cause due to religions.
Ex.: 100 yr War, Crusades, WW II, remember Nothern Ireland, The Cashmere, etc, etc...

No true Christian starts any wars. They may say they are Christians but what does their fruit(what they do) say? There are wars, poverty, etc., because everyone does not claim nor live to be Christians. We do what we can. You can't go what people say, you have to watch what they do. For instance the you stated the Civil War Christians, ironically, these are the same people who say I am a Christian yet I am fighting because I refused to acknowledge that my brothers and sisters in Christ(blacks) are equal to me. Forget that Jesus says that we should love on another right now. I want to continue to have someone do everything for me that I don't want to do and rape their daughters, mothers, and sisters. God is not in that. In the book of Acts, that church was the way God intended. It says that those who had, gave to those you had not so that there was no lack. No that is an indeal planet. May God Bless I

sorry folks ,wars are a part of human escense ,.weather started as a religious war by the Templars or the Romans or the Moors ,or the Suni or Sufi`s ,or the Jews or the Palestinians .who ever.it can be based on hunger ,drought ,money, land ,power, resources, only a handfull of the past hisotic wars were started by christians.who inthemselves have persicuted other religions as not being true .christianity is a new religion compaired to most other worldly religions.some go back 1,00ds of years BCE.where nature was reviered as the religion .and mother earth was worshiped,as it should be,we have lost track of what is actually important to survival .as long as there is a belief in a higher power it does not matter what it is! untill humans can learn back the old ways of thinking it will never work .share cropping and comunal living are in order.this world it way to preocupied with gimmee gimmee whats in it for me .this goes for the TELE- VANGELISTS as well we all know who they are.oh and lest we forget political agendas and big oil.Thanx .

A. Not all that say Lord Lord will enter the kingdom of God In that day I will say I never knew you, you lawless one. In other words not everyone who claims to be christian is.

B. Not all people on earth even claim to be christian. Most western european countrys still claim to be "christian" nations even though "christians" are the decided minority.

If you don't want new testiment qoutes then don't ask the question of christians. Do you know how arrogant it sounds for you to question or faith then tell us we can't quote or scriptures. Next time ask your question without quoting a history book or science. get a life

C. Messiah Yahshua did not promise to bring peace on earth at this time but warned just the opposite.

Not to offend anyone but EVERY SINGLE conflict in the world today has a Muslim nation involved. Now that one does claim to be the religion of peace.

If people followed the TEACHINGS of Jesus, there would be peace. There would be no poverty or hunger.
I don't know why the teachings haven't been followed. I don't know why people think money and power bring happiness. I don't know why this world is so screwed up. If the message of love, peace, understanding, tolerance was followed with as much zeal as the get into heaven free card that is used instead of the real message. We would have something far better than we have now.

Are you asking WHY there's no peace on the planet?
"To Gather All Things Together
Again in the Christ"
God's purpose, says the apostle, is for what he calls "an administration [or management of affairs] at the full limit of the appointed times." What does this mean? It means that God has a set time when he will act in such a way as "to gather all things together again in the Christ, the things in the heavens and the things on the earth." (Ephesians 1:10) Yes, God has set in motion an arrangement to bring everything in heaven and on earth back into harmony under his direct control. Interestingly, regarding the term here rendered 'to gather together again,' Bible scholar J. H. Thayer notes: "Bring together again for himself ... all things and beings (hitherto disunited by sin) into one combined state of fellowship in Christ."

That points to the need for God to do this in view of how disunity arose in the first place. Early in man's history, our original parents, Adam and Eve, followed Satan the Devil in rebellion against God. They wanted independence in the form of the right to decide for themselves what was good and what was bad. (Genesis 3:1-5) In line with divine justice, they were expelled from God's family and lost their fellowship with him. They plunged mankind into imperfection with all the terrible consequences we experience today.—Romans 5:12.

Temporary Permission of Evil
'Why did God let them do that?' some might ask. 'Why did he not simply use his supreme power and enforce his will, thus preventing all the pain and suffering we now experience?' It may be tempting to think that way. But what would such a use of overwhelming power really prove? Do you admire or approve of anyone who at the first sign of dissent simply crushes all opposition because he has the power to do so? Surely not.

Those rebels did not really challenge God's almighty power. They more particularly challenged the rightfulness and rightness of his way of ruling. To settle once and for all time the fundamental issues raised, Jehovah has allowed his creatures to run their own affairs without his direct control for a limited time. (Ecclesiastes 3:1; Luke 21:24) When that time is up, he will intervene to re-exercise total control of the earth. By then it will be abundantly clear that his way of ruling is the only way that guarantees lasting peace, happiness, and prosperity to earth's inhabitants. Then all the world's oppressors will be removed forever.—Psalm 72:12-14; Daniel 2:44.

First I would disagree that most major wars are Christian, We could go into a long discussion about whether any were.
Jesus came to save his people from the penalty of sin. He will return to set up his kingdom on the earth and that kingdom will be peaceful.

Well I for one would like to see the proof that christians started all the wars..and just because someone lays claim to being a christian it does not make them one. There is no peace on this earth because of sin..and Jesus has made way for all sin to be finally destroyed. He has given us information on how this will be done..and it will be done when all those who are going to accept christ do just that.
I do believe that a lot of non christians were involved in wars, murders, etc etc etc..so how about we do something about all of our involvement in evil since we cannot change stuff that has happened. The blame game is evil..it causes wars, killings, strife etc..look around the world..the big blame game is always in the news...the blame game is in here too..always pointing fingers..and those pointing them..such as yourself..are doing no better than those people you are blaming.

God declared that He was no longer at war with the Earth and His grace (goodwill) toward all men. Jesus even said, " In the last days, there would be wars and rumors of war but fear not, for the end is nigh. God wasn't saying there was peace between men, He was saying He was at peace with men.

Have you ever read the Bible? If you had you would have seen that there will be wars and rumors of wars till the end. This is no suprise!
Jesus will set up His kingdom at the end of the 7 year period described,in part, in the Book of Revelation. HE will bring the peace that HE is foretold to bring.
GOD does not lie!
