In history and even today why are women considered "lower" then men even though they birth the child and carry it for 9 months? even in the bible it says women are not to be higher then a man but man cares for the woman, etc, etc. why would god put men higher then women?

i mean really. i keep hearing the story of the watchmaker. guess what, if i were a watchmaker, i could make the same watch over and over again. i have yet to see two trees that are even remotely identical. you show me a group of trees that look exactly alike and i'll believe your designer story.

We are called ignorant, brainwashed morons who will follow whatever our pastor says. If we are so ignorant why do the athiests and agnostics keep poking their head into this area and bashing our belief system. It seems like it would be demeaning to them to enter into conversation with us "brainwashed morons". I ahve an idea, Why don't they do what the Jewish leaders did about 2,000 years ago. "Therefore leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin it will fail. But if it is of God you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourself fighting against God." (Acts 5:39)
If you come to this room looking for a fight you may find one, but be careful who you are fighting against, because the winner won't be declared until our lives are over. What side would you rather be on?

The History of every major Galactic Civilization tends to pass through three distinct and recognizable phases, those of Survival, Inquiry and Sophistication, otherwise known as the How, Why and Where phases.

For instance, the first phase is characterized by the question "How can we eat?", the second by the question "Why do we eat?" and the third by the question, "Where shall we have lunch?"

Why do we obey God?

Do you really think that religion is evil and must be fought at all costs or is it just not for you and to each thier own? I can not believe in any type of God myself, but if it brings peace to someone else, good for them.Yes there will always be some people who take things too far, but the same could be said of some fanatical athiest.
Basically I am just trying to say that peace should be our number one goal no matter what we believe. If someone feels their religion brings peace to them is there a valid argument for disturbing that peace?

Anglican Head Williams Says Anti-Gays Misread Bible

The spiritual leader of the world's 77 million Anglicans has said conservative Christians who cite the Bible to condemn homosexuality are misreading a key passage written by Saint Paul almost 2,000 years ago.

Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams, addressing theology students in Toronto, said an oft-quoted passage in Paul's Epistle to the Romans was meant to warn Christians not to be self-righteous when they see others fall into sin.
_________________________________________

How is this misread? Paul's meaning is very clear--

"Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion."

My brother is 40yrs old, divorced, working part-time and lives with Mom. Less then a 1mo after exiting U-Turn for Christ (a Christian rehad), he is again drinking.

The family has found empty liquor bottles in bushes and behind the dryer. Most of his drinking is done in the garage. He goes to church to please my Mom. But, he fools no one except himself. Mom refuses to remove him from the home. My Mom is diabetic and dealing with kidney problems.

We are a strong Christian family. I welcome all positive prayers. I know our Lord has a plan. But, what can we do as a family to help resolve this issue?
