They say diamond is forever and most women want it. But as a servant of God do we need to have this kind of possessions in our life.

I need to know about this "football field" theory that, I believe, the Mormon's have come up with. Were God and Satan brothers? what was their relationship? did they have a falling out or are they working in conjunction to bring us Home?

I have confessed that I am a sinner and I believe in Jesus and I asked him to come into my life. Why don't I know if I'm saved.

But wait a minute...did not God tell Adam N Eve to go forth and multiply?

Was the part about the Tree of Knowledge a metaphor of some kind, or did it literally mean that there was an actual tree that, if one were to partake of its fruit, one could gain knowledge of good and evil (or knowledge of something else utterly)?

And, what kind of fruit was it?

Slashdot, a well-known geek news site, has almost since its inception had a contacts system like Yahoo added (you know, the contacts/fans thing) not too long ago.

Except they have subdivisions; you can have Fans, Foes, Friends and Freaks (I'm sure you can work out what each means)

Would this work for you, or would this delineate the R&S lines in an even sharper fashion?

I'm not talking about Earth, that's an easy way out of it. I want you to tell me how "existence" began. If there wasn't a creator, how did everything come to exist? I know that all matter has always been and it is (according to your so called science) never created or destroyed. But explain to me how the universe is here. Everyone always bashes Christianity because we say that God created everything. Well it seems to me we are the only ones who have an explanation to my question. But I'm curious to see how you answer this one.

I would like to learn more about the religion. I realize that I really don't know anything about it. Just a few things.

Thanks.

So.... a week or so ago I answer one Mr. Robert H's christian question in the R&S section. Something about why people didn't believe in god or some other such nonsense. He didn't agree with my answer so he took it upon himself to write me an e-mail. He's been writing me frequently since then. At first his arguments were a sorry attempt at logic. Proof of god's existence & whatnot. After firing every one of his attempts at "logical" debate with my counter arguments as to why god doesn't exist he resorts to telling me i'm going to hell because i'm not christian. So i wrote him back asking why christianity... out of ALL religions in the world that came before & the ones that are centuries older than christianity... why is christianity the only right one?

He, in the usual christian fashion, found himself backed into a corner & continued condemning me.

I was respectful, i engaged him in mature conversation and this is his christian way to respond.

My question to you all Atheists

Most athiests i have come into contact with side with science. Couldn't it be argued that this "scientific fact" is simply passed down from "educators" onto the students who are told to "know" it?

replace "scientific fact" with bible, "educator" with minister and "know" with "believe", and youve got yourself a Christian.

My argument is this> how do you know the earth is round? how do you know evolution isnt just a big sham? how do you know atoms exist? unless you have done the research yourself, have stood in space, or looked at an atom you are TRUSTING and BELIEVING those who have done the work for you, you therefore would have FAITH no? thereby negating the entire premise of athiesm? what say you?

It is known that Jesus and his dicsiples had the last supper on a Thursday evening to celebrate the passover. And in Leviticus 23 it states that we should remember and celebrate the Passover on the 14th day of the first month of the year Abib, which is the month of April. If Jesus had the last supper on that day, which happened to be on a Thursday, Why not take communion (the bread and wine) on this day? The facts are there, but why do Catholics and many christians follow the Roman Calender when the bible is established by the Hebrew Calender?
