Happiness to Christians is more than the needs of the flesh. Homosexuals must continue to pray for strength to resist their urges and strive to be obedient to the scriptures.

If you look very closely in the bible you'll note that there are many contradictions.
if the bible really is true then we have to look at it from an historic standpoint; it was created by the inspiration of many great men (Prophets) through the course of many thousands of years. And then over the course of another several hundreds of years it has been retranslated into many different languages, not to mention the fact that the church in the dark ages decided to add and omit a lot of things to suit their political whims at the time.
if the bible is true, I wonder what the original words of these people would really say!
Personally (And this is coming from an imperfect agnostic so bare with me) I think that if God is real then he sent us all down here with all of these urges and things not to condemn us with 'sin' but to let us experience things for ourselves. I can't imagine any god, or whomever, punishing a person for learning what it's like to be human. :)

I do not think it matters whether God created some people as homosexual and others as heterosexual. The fact is that we are all born of a sinful nature and what will seduce one person into sin may be a totally different seduction for another. As St. Paul shared we all have a "thorn' that if we surrender to that "thorn" will keep us from the salvific relationship with Christ.
Now, sometimes these temptations may be a blessing for if we are victorious and overcome these sinful desires of the flesh we become closer and more dependent of God's grace in the process. So, no it is not contradictory but it is just one of many stumbling blocks that may separate us from the eternity promised by Christ.

Everyone is born into sin. This is the result of the Fall of Mankind.
I believe that it is possible for someone to be born with a disposition to same-sex attraction. This is the same as anyone who is born with a disposition toward kleptomania, or some other personality disorder.
We don't excuse the kleptomaniac when they steal, do we? We don't say, "There, there, you were born that way..."
We are not animals who are bound by instinct to obey our passions. We have the capability to say no to behaviors that are destructive or abhorrent. What do we excuse next? Polyamory, because we can't just love one person? How about pedophilia? After all, these folks can't be fixed, they're "born that way."
The Bible speaks rather clearly about the human condition. We are all a bunch of filthy, rotten sinners. Even homosexuals. We all need a Savior. Even homosexuals.

God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that a person becomes a homosexual because of sin (Romans 1:24-27), and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger / rage, does that make it right for then to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality.

I am new to Yahoo, and my husband advised me to stay away from controversial questions. However, I understand that the Catholic Church Research department, has recently announced that homosexuality is not a sin, and never has been a sin according to the Bible. It seems that famous leviticus verse was not condemning homosexuality, it was condemning disharmony between a man and his wife. Paul condemned homosexuality; Jesus did not. -- well, I am sorry for being controversial. --
But my family taught that being fair minded is not (just) nice, it simply being smart. When I want to be not nice to my neighbor, I remember my family slogan.

Perhaps the looniest explanation Ive heard is that God creates them as gay, but as a test - see, if they dont act upon their urges, and instead refrain from engaging in Homosex, God gives them free and immediate entrance into the Fun House...
Makes me wonder why some people needed to be tested in a way worse fashion than everyone else on earth....

To all the people playing it fast and loose with the comparison between homosexuality and kleptomania, pedophilia, rape and murder: There is one fundamental difference between these - same sex relations are consentual! Nobody is violated by a healthy homosexual relationship, except for the inexplicable droves of passers by who somehow think its their business to judge.
Some of you have alluded to the fact that the only problem is intercourse, but it worries me that the majority of you would rather see this person in a loveless, sexless relationship with a woman than a loving, sexless relationship with another man.

God did NOT create gay people. God created male and female to make moral choices. God would NOT put something in you that would condemn you.
