So.... a week or so ago I answer one Mr. Robert H's christian question in the R&S section. Something about why people didn't believe in god or some other such nonsense. He didn't agree with my answer so he took it upon himself to write me an e-mail. He's been writing me frequently since then. At first his arguments were a sorry attempt at logic. Proof of god's existence & whatnot. After firing every one of his attempts at "logical" debate with my counter arguments as to why god doesn't exist he resorts to telling me i'm going to hell because i'm not christian. So i wrote him back asking why christianity... out of ALL religions in the world that came before & the ones that are centuries older than christianity... why is christianity the only right one?
He, in the usual christian fashion, found himself backed into a corner & continued condemning me.
I was respectful, i engaged him in mature conversation and this is his christian way to respond.

How many of you have had christians contacting you via email attempting to debate you & make you see their way?
I know i'm not alone in this, but i wanna know who else has had this problem.

glitterkitty: Yeah, i have had one other guy write me who actually started off rude but turned out to be nice after i presented my argument to counter his. But this guy who's been writing me was persistent in presenting his broken logic & when i shot down every one of his attempts with REAL logic he resorted to telling me i'm going to hell. And going along with Deke's answer..... his grammar was atrocious as well. Literally 2 out of every 5 words was spelled incorrectly and/or used incorrectly.
He writes me trying to convert me & make me see his way, but he's only solidified my beliefs that religion is for looneys! Sure, there are the sane ones who follow religion but they know not to take everything literally... but there are the crazy ones who believe the bible is the absolute word. Unbelievable!

Riegan: yeah, i know what you mean. I'm thinking about shutting my email function off. It's driving me crazy. So many self-righteous christians who feel their right & they have to try to brainwash you as they have been brainwashed.
That girl who misunderstood the transmission of AIDS sounds extremely uneducated! One of the most shocking things i've ever seen in regards to AIDS was a christian at some kind of homosexual protest with a sign that read "AIDS is the cure".... How cruel can people be? How would heterosexual people with AIDS feel about that statement? Un-f**king-believable!!

dke: I don't deny that there are perpetrators on both sides who try to convince the others, but from my point of view.... I've never imposed my beliefs on anyone else or tried to make anyone see my way without reason.
If someone asks a question, i give my opinion but i've never written someone for the sole(or is it soul, Deke? LOL) purpose of converting someone's beliefs.
I believe that everyone has the right to believe what they choose. Who am i to say what is right or wrong for them? All i can say is what I believe & nobody will change what i believe with any proselytizing emails.
They just don't seem to understand that.

Kent: Yeah, some are more respectful than others. others seem to think that when calm discussion doesn't work then cursing & condemning you to hell will.

Has happened many times. And they sure do curse a lot! I'm not joking either.
Oh forgot to add, I have had emails from some very nice christians too. I wish there were more like them.

I am not an atheist, but a gnostic. I do respect your right to think as you please, you are not trying to convert anyone. Go for it!!!
To your question: I have received some e-mails from, now be nice old man, psychically dead die hards, but not harassment. One tried harassing and I just cut him off. 7 deadly sins and he gave me about 50. How some people improve on their god is amazing. I've been in contact with one man who has tried to make a respectful argument, but also used a measure of meaningless scripture quotes. I made my case, and he seems to respect that.

I've had a few contact me, but only one or two did so in order to "correct" me.
Each of them started like this :
ur wrong about soles (souls)
Anyone who is old enough to vote and types like that waives their right to be taken seriously by me.

Iam a Christian and have been contacted by others who do not agree with my denomination (Iam Catholic) and they have said some pretty cruel things to me.

i have only ever wanted to contact a couple of people on here (but i never have) one was a girl yesterday who thinks you catch AIDS by being promiscuous. she really does! i was concerned for her safety, but i told her in my answer that she really needs to protect herself because she can get AIDS just by being with one person who's infected.
