I don't know how "existence" began... and I'm not entirely convinced "everything" had a beginning at all. After all, matter can never be created or destroyed, just changed (which you just admitted, thank you). What makes you think matter had to have been "created"? What makes you think the matter, which cannot be created, WAS CREATED?
Oh, that's right, a mysterious, laws- of- physics- and- nature- breaking super being is brought into the picture. "I demand a full explanation for everything", you scream, "but don't you dare make me explain my god and it's existence to you" is no doubt the next thing that would fall out of that flapping jaw.

Friend,
Your argument is based upon what is known as the God of the Gaps theory. Since science cannot answer this question yet (hence the Gap), you chalk up existence to God.
You need to understand that this is intellectually dishonest and lazy. Look at the first responder - he doesnt need to know or want to know - he already THINKS he knows that God did it all... If we chalked up everything to a God, how much technology do you think we would have today?? We will never find out the answer to what began existence if we simply assume that God is responsible...why continue to search for an explanation??

When it comes to this arguement my friend we must always keep one thing in the back of our minds. And that is all science
no matter what it's specific field whether it be of the earth, plants, stars, energy etc. is that they all come from the realm of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Anything that is not of the tree of life which represents Christ, belongs to the other tree If you read the book of Job chptr 38:2 Who is this who darkens counsel by words without knowledge, and read the rest of the chptr God makes it quite clear to Job he is the creator of existence. Also we must remember Satans tactic
is to keep people distracted from coming to God, If God wanted us to know certain things he would have said so in the Bible. For example can anyone say there are no UFO's well
we really do not care as believers because God does not tell us in the Bible so it is not important for us to know whether there is or is not. He gives us what is important for us to know
and that is we are created for his purpose. His purpose is to have a group of people a one new man to be His counterpart to match Him to have His image=expression and dominion=authority Gen 1:26-27) to dwell together eternally
Eph.2:22. Amen.

There is no official answer on how the universe came to be. The only logical position to take on this is "we don't know". Its not reasonable to put forward answers as "the truth" when there is no evidence to back it.
That being said, it is my opinion that we have some form of uncaused cause for the original fields. Not the ultimate answer of course, but maybe you'd like to hear it anyways...
Matter has not always existed as Thermodynamics and its laws broke down at Planck time, which is the very point when the unified field spearated into individual fields. Before this point, nothing is known about the workings of existence, but I think that (logically) since no time and space exist at that time (they are separate fields) no causality exists at that moment (as causality as an aspect of time). Therefore the singularity is acausal and remains the uncaused cause.

shut up for one moment. 90% of America is christian so 10% is hardly everyone, and thats assuming that all 10% bash christianity which they don't. the laws of thermodynamics only apply to a constant space time relation(where space is not moving, and time is going on at a constant pace), we can destroy matter with atom splitting which creates huge masses of energy just by destroying a single atom, this is where nuclear weapons come from. by saying God did everything you are just skipping your responsibility to mankind to learn and discover, and you say atheists are lazy. the truth is no one knows, but science gets closer to the truth every day, whereas religion doesn't even care to acertain the truth because the callously and foolishly think they already know.

Science is an ongoing process that is always looking for answers and finding new ways to explore tue universe, unlike your stratic book and religion that uses "just believe" as a reasonable explanation.
Science is also in it's infancy, blunted and repressed for thousands of years by your religion.
Only in the last 100 years has science beena able to progress as quickly as it should and it would go even faster if not for repression by the same religious groups that have always tried to repress truth.
Let science go unimpeded and it will discover the answers for everything

There might be a god that created "everything" but many of feel, if you can comprehend this, that he created evolution. The hard core brain dead faithful say that the world was created 6000 years ago, or whatever number you want to use, but the thinking lot of us say that if the "universe" was created it was done 20 billion years ago and everything has evolved since then. Or like some of us it was "created" un-imaginable trillions of years ago and has been cycling since then. And he ain't looking over my shoulder.

Let's not throw stones at glass houses buddy. The universe has always existed. Doesn't that make sense to you? You claim your god has always existed. Why can't I say the same about the universe? Both explanations are irrational and illogical but the bottom line is that we will never know....

who created your "creator?"
it cuts both ways.
if you say, "the creator created him/her/itself," why not just say, "the universe created it/him/herself?"
we may never know with 100 percent certainty how reality came to be; even the Big Bang theory does not pretend to explain that (for the record: evidence points to a single point from which the universe has expanded, but anything before that has essentially been erased and is thus impossible to determine based upon the laws of physics as we currently understand them).
But that doesn't mean an ancient book that is flawed at best has any validity whatsoever.

God is a cop out excuse, you don't have to look for anything when you say god did it, as for so called science I hope you don't have to go to the doctor. if you mock the science institution you shouldn't be aloud to use it. As far as existence the truth is know body knows yet but at least we are looking based on evidence instead of saying ohh I guess God did it
