Why bring Jesus into the equation. Surely the evil will not enter Heaven.....(unless they are forgiven?) Meanwhile back on Earth, I say those who do big wrongs deserve big punishments.

To those who say,"so we can move on in our lives" I say we wouldn't have to if others hadn't been so bad - so why forgive them??

What's not forgiving to do with love? Why should anything love that which does wrong? All seems a bit wishy-washy to me. Should a forest forgive the chain saw, or should the seas forgive the ships?

According to the bible, it doesn't matter how bad a life you've led, all you need do is ask, even on your deathbed for forgiveness and it will be granted. Personally, i prefer the old eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth verse. But i'd also like to think that evil, nasty people get their come uppance sooner rather than later.

sometimes you hear brave people forgiving there relatives murderers, it must help people to carry on with life as before and still remain happy and positive. If they did not forgive they may end up dwelling on the anger towards the murderer and their life would be further damaged.
I remember when the Amish girls were killed and the community decided to forgive the man, I think they did the right thing. They can go though a better mourning process also.

Forgiveness is beneficial to both parties involved. For the one doing the forgiving, it can be very hard and may even seem wrong, but it is a release that is needed. Once you grant forgiveness and truly mean it, there is nobody holding anything over you anymore, nobody causing you to react with anger or hurt. Forgiveness is almost cleansing.

I believe that forgiveness is as much for the person who is doing the forgiving sometimes, then for the receiver.
When we are unable to forgive, we often feel weighed down by it and so forgiveness helps us to go on and relieves that weight.
The other point is that it helps to mend relationships when there is forgiveness.
People make mistakes, all people, and so if there was no forgiveness then there would probably be no friendships, marriages etc.

Forgiveness is at the heart of Jesus teachings. It is often ignored even by those that claim being Christians, but then some people will never see the light during this life time.
Forgiveness is one of those really hard things to do, unless it becomes a habit. It is a commandment that America often ignores to it's peril.

Never forgive. Its a horrible Xian concept. Xians don't have the gumption, or courage, to do what is right. They forgive because they have no choice. Real people should always meet any insult, injury or wrong with the appropriate response. Once you have extracted your dues forgiveness becomes irrelevant. Xianity was founded by people who thrived on being persecuted they forgive because it removes from them the responsibility for standing up for themselves.

Forgiveness helps you more than it helps the other person. Why keep them tied to you with your hatred? It is bad for your physical and mental health. Forgive and go on with your life. The best revenge is to live well.

Unforgiveness is like a ball and chain around neck, if someone does us a great harm, they just get on with their lives, but if we cant forgive, we carry on suffering for long time, its like they have a hold over our lives! forgiveness realeases that hold

forgiveness frees you from any bitterness or unhappiness that was caused you. It really does nothing for the one you forgive, it only helps you move on and be happy and at peace.
