Man has worried about his demise since the beginning of his time on this earth. Man has created all manner of Gods to aid him in this quest for immortality. While researching the Easter Bunny, I found that long before Christ, the Pagans held the rabbit in high regard as it was so prolific. I had always or for at least a long time thought that we could only be immortal through our children. So, my advise is of course have a few so you will be well represented in the future. ~

Becoming more religious and spiritual at the time usually dosen't work out too well. You see, most organized religions (Christianity, Judaism, and Islam in particular) have many teachings that have nothing but a negative impact on ones spiritual growth. You do not need religion to become spiritual. Take up meditation, yoga, martial arts, etc. There are many ways to become in touch with yourself and nature.

Do you really think following any deities, with all knowledge pointing against these religions, saying, if you choose the wrong religion I will roast you for eternity will make you more spiritual. Again, I realize you might not have been talking about the Abrahamic deity, just trying to shed some insight.

You need to talk to God often and about everything and anything. My kids ask God for help with tests in school, doing well in dance, or to just be with them if they feel alone. Your faith must come from deep inside of you. You need to know there is a God and he is always there for you if you just talk to him and accept him into your heart. You might want to check out some different churches in your area that have literature for new believers. Also, there is a radio program on 107.9, called KWVE. It is a christian program and the between 3:00 and 4:00 pm weekdays, a couple of Pastor's do a question and answer kind of thing. It is really great and they help a lot of people. They probably could send you some literature and direct you to churches nearby. You might also want to check out bookstores and bible studies. As for being spiritual, treat people how you would like to be treated and ask yourself before doing anything; "what would Jesus do?" I hope this helps! Good luck and God Bless You!

If you want to be more "religious" than act like the Pharisees and Sadducees in Bible times by walking up and down the street yelling your prayers for all to hear. If you want to increase your RELATIONSHIP with God, then read your Bible(hopefully the KJV), and pray often, and try to follow God's will in the simple things in order to move onto bigger things. For all of this though, you at least need to be a Christian. Then get baptized. (Realizing that baptism isn't a way to get saved but a step in showing Jesus your willingness to serve Him.)

First, let me educate you on this important fact: faith and religion have nothing in common. Faith is hope in the unseen. Faith + hope = trust. Religion is self-righteousness, doing things your way instead of God's way. Faith is God's way, dependence on His promises. Religion is man's way, dependence on men instead of God. Most people have no faith, but plenty of religion.

Christianity is not religion----it is a one-on-one relationship with God. Christianity is what I think that you are looking for, because in a personal relationship based upon faith you get into close contact with God. the Bible says that without faith it is impossible to please God. God wants us to be dependent upon him, to look to him as our provider. most people do not have the faith to do this; therefore they turn to their fellow man who fails them miserably.

Religion does not seek this relationship, but seeks alternatives such as the observance of days, diets, dogmatic rites, approved prayer and an intercessory priesthood of men. Religion is human oriented, whereas Christianity is Christ oriented. Don't be fooled into letting anybody convince you that you need someone other than God to reach God. God is always accessible by the individual through prayer.

To get more faith you must let go of the world and all of its distractions. This does not mean that you must become a dropout or a hermit, but you must not rely on humans for your spiritual strength---they will fail you every time. God never fails. The promises of God are not dependent upon the activities of men. Trust God completely no matter what situation you are in or how things are going. All things work for the good to them that love God. Jesus loves you.

Have a bible study each week until you understand the weightier things of the bible. Most people are still on the basics and they come here to ask the deeper questions.
But a personal bible study will make you appreciate God and his works more deeply and you can then go share with others.

Regardless your religious persuasion the first step is to get down on your knees and pray to the Father in Heaven to guide you along the way of righteous living in faith.

You may consider fasting before seriously petitioning God.

To become more in touch with the One True God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the creator of the heavens and the earth, it would be advisable to read the Word that He has given us!

Faith is another word for "trust". - so I would imagine you could approach your quest by asking yourself, "How do I develop more trust.?

Now "religion" is a rather multi-layered word according to most dictionaries. - It includes the meaning, if not the words, of a fixation on a person, place, thing, idea, or concept. (In some dictionaries (unabridged) it includes "a persons attitude of his or her relationship to the Universe).
