Well, I go to a church called OLD TIME BAPTIST CHURCH and we are a Fundamental Baptist Church.
We believe in ONLY the King James Version Bible.
We believe in old fashioned standards of conduct.
We believe in old fashioned values.
We are against contemporary Christian music and believe in sticking with the old time Hymns and songs.
We believe the women should dress like women (no pants & no bobbed hair) and men should dress like men. ( no long hair) Women and men should dress modestly at all times. (exposing the leg above the knee is exposing your nakedness)
We don't drink, take drugs, gamble or dance.
We believe in living a life that is pleasing to God.
We believe that the man is the head of the women and when we say our wedding vows we women still promise to OBEY our husbands.
Examples: We believe that a couple should not touch each other in any way until after the wedding. We beleive in courting not dateing. We believe that a couple should have a chaperone at all times and should never be left alone together until they are married. The couples first kiss should be when the pastor says, "I now pronounce you husband and wife....you may kiss the bride."

The mainline denominations tend more toward liberalism. These include (but are not limited to) the Methodist, Episcopal, Presbyterian, United Church of Christ, American Baptist, and Lutheran churches. (There are conservative churches within these denominations)
The more fundamental churches (but not necessarily fundamentalist) include the Southern Baptists, Independent Baptist, Calvary Chapels, Pentecostal, Charismatic, and non-denominational churches.

The only true Christian foundation need to be founded on the Rock, & that Rock is Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.
Jesus said that on this Rock He will build His Church & the gates of hell will not prevail.
To answer your question, it would take calling up a denominational church & ask them their foundational faith. Does it confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of the living God? Does it say that Jesus died for the remission of our sins? Does it say that the Holy Spirit is the seal that seals us as children of God & is the Spirit of Truth who leads into all truth. Where we know we are a child of God & can pray to Father God 24/7? Is it founded on the Word of God, the Bread that came down from heaven? Founded on the whole Holy Bible? Or does it change the foundation of Christ Salvation for His Church by adding other books that change His Words?
To know if a denomination is a true Christian Church takes reading about what it believes & if it Christ who is the Rock foundation.
midnight... You write that you go to a stifled church. Wake up. We are not under the law of sin & death, but under grace. It is OK to praise God in present day praise music.

there is not any longer the form of ingredient as non-denominational. A denomination is defined by skill of its ideals. the single way a church could be non-denominational could be to haven't any defined ideals in any respect. Unitarians come close. A so-time-venerated as "non-denominational" church is barely one extra denomination that doesn't align itself with any of the mainline denominations. yet yet another cut up in Christianity. one extra rejection of the choose of Jesus Christ concerning His followers - "that all of them could be ONE".
