Okay, I was watching a show on discovery channel this weekend about the tomb of Jesus. I was listening to all the contriversy about it and I dont know. Have they really found the tomb where Jesus was born? I think it is up to each person to decide if it was really it or not, but I cant decide. I do think however that if it was Jesus' tomb that they should have left it alone. Actually I think any tomb should have been left alone. I believe it is very desrespectful to move the remains of people that have lived before us. I know that if someone was to dig up my dad's grave and move him, I would be pissed. Let them rest in peace. But I really dont know, what you you think? According to what you have heard, do you believe they have found the tomb of Jesus?

Did Jesus know he was the son of God and promote it?

Then how did he remain so humble?

I mean today in a time of scientific explanations...we as a whole would be pretty freaked out by a man coming back from the dead...3 DAYS LATER. It seems to me, back then people would have thought him "evil"...practicing some king of magic instead of a miracle???
If it happened today...would people follow blindly or would science crucify him yet again???

I am not the slightest religious nor spiritualist, but must admit to being superstitious, for instance , Friday 13th.walking under ladders, looking at a new moon through a window, and more. when I think to myself, this is utter nonesense, something inside me say's better not to tempt providence. how do you deal with this complex?

I consider myself a Pagan, sort of Wiccan, a little ecclectic witch :)

Most of my friends just call me 'new age'.
My dad knows I am a witch and a few close friends do, too.

I am President of a local organization. A mom looking into being a troop leader, or on the PTA, I do a lot of volunteer work (seniors, abused children animal shelters).

I don't feel that it's necessary to shout from the rooftops what my beliefs are.
I do wear my goddess symbol a lot, but it's small and pretty.

Is there anything wrong with staying in the broom closet?

What are your experiences with sharing your religion with other people?

Although it became more unclear but i appreciate your replies. I hope that i can ask once more? My question is... DOES THE 27 BOOKS OF THE SO CALLED NEW TESTAMENT ARE REALLY REVEALED AND INSPIRED BY GOD? IF SO, WHY YHE GOSPEL OF JESUS IS TOTALLY DELETED IN THE BIBLE? JESUS, DURING HIS TIME,NEVER PREACHED TO THE PEOPLE ANY OF THESE 27 BOOKS FOR SURE. HE HAVEN'T A BIBLE UNDER HIS ARM AND SAID TO THE PEOPLE TO OPEN IT IN ST. MARK AS FOR EXAMPLE OR WENT TO SYNAGOGUE AND PREACH THE GOSPEL OF JOHN...? I BELIEVE THAT IN HIS TIME, HE PREACHED HIS OWN TEACHINGS (the gospel of Jesus) AS WELL AS HIS 12 DESCIPLES PREACHED THE SAME AS HE PREACH... ANYONE CAN RECORRECT ME IF I WERE MISTAKENLY ON MY BELIEF PLEASE. (desiderata 80d) e-mail: frank_t_77@yahoo.com

I’m not asking for you to agree but I’m curious if Christians can even understand how their religion might seem like a bunch of superstitions to someone who is rather empiricistic.

cuss, but you shouldn't use substitute words. Example: don't say "s_hit", but don't say common substitute words either, like "shoot", "shucks", or other words beginning with "sh" that are common sub words.
That same group says, no rated R movies, but group members seem to not have a problem renting/buying a "scrubbed" movie that used to be rated R and watching it.
What's the difference? If you can't say substitute swear words, it doesn't seem like there's much difference in that and watching a movie that used to be rated R.

(a scrubbed movie is a rated R movie that has been bought by a private company, and through various forms of digital editing, the parts of the movie deemed offensive are removed or redubbed, then rented out to those who want to see the movie, but don't want to see the scenes that are rated R)

From observation it seems that Christianity is the most basic of all religions. Perhaps it is a good starting point for those who have never been exposed to religion to prepare them for a more advanced version.

This is Jesus. See Jesus run. Run Jesus, run.

When someone masters Chrisitanity what is next?

I've recentley just realised that as a child I spent (a bit) of time going to church with my mom. My life nowadays is pretty good, but I just Don't see any return on my investment of time. Could someone high up in the church, A manager or equivalent give me something for this?

with respect , I have just seen a question about someone calling Jesus evil
only to be met with many answerers calling him evil or the devil etc
is that the way to bring people even to tolerate you and respect you ?
does having a difference of opinion to you make them evil ?
don't get me wrong , I think it was rude of them to comment like that
and even as a non Christian I defended Jesus
but guys seriously , your words don't help your cause

p.s I know this is not all Christians

I hate to generalize, but this is an ACTUAL QUESTION. I'M NOT RANTING. It seems like the south US is severely lacking in highschool graduates, and probably has more religious (Christian) people than anywhere else in the US. I know this, because i have lived all over the US, and never in my life have i seen more churches than in GEORGIA. (sorry for spelling, no sleep. ) What made the south so religious? Is it directly related to the lack of education? I'm not saying EVERY southerner is uneducated, but, again, from personal experience, i can say A LOT are. any thoughts?

I'm a "receiver" or empath. I've become overburdened with the negative attitudes of others, including my husband who hates his job. He doesn't take it out on me, but I still feel all the anger and negativity he has from the place. He can retire with full benefits in 2 years. I do okay all day, but have bad dreams every night and wake up depressed. The energy is oppressive and I want to learn how to manage it better. I'm not going to leave my husband, he's a great guy and it's not just his energy that wears me down. Any ideas?

I grew up Episcopalian with the King James Version. My mother-in-law (an evangelical) reads the NIV.

I don't like the NIV, but would like something easier to follow the KJV.

I can't find a clear comparison of all the versions online anywhere.

Well I say you're weak for not questioning your faith. I care about religion so much because of how religious everyone else around me is. I'm an atheist in a religious world, so yes it concerns me. I do not have faith, I have knowlege. I have read the bible, forceably, and have not accepted it. So if that makes me, weak, foolish, immature, what ever the words are that you want to use then fine, yup that's me! But don't ever say that it does not concern me what everyone else believes. My family has disowned me and my friends look down on me, and I say fine, I'll enjoy the ride and punch any sucker in the face who tries to stone me, hey if they're devout in their faith they'll be traditional.

During the days of Jesus, a lady named Mary madeline was caught sleeping with a man who was not her husband.Acording to the Jewish Law, such woman must be stone to death; Yet when a lady caught in the very act was brought over to Jesus, all he said was, if anyone among you is with out a sin ;then let him be the first to stone her.. My question is, why did Jesus ask a person without sin must be the first to stone Mary.

If God is the Creator of both the Bible and my brain, why would He make them fundamentally incompatible unless He wanted me to burn in Hell? All He had to do is either have the Bible be compliant with some logical framework that was not totally self-contradictory, or else make me a lot dumber, so I wouldn't notice. But since he made His Holy Word full of inconsistencies, and made me smart enough to figure that out, I can only assume that my eternal damnation was part of God's Divine Plan from the beginning. So, when I say that God is a silly fairytale invented to frighten children and has no place in rational discourse, I'm really doing God's work, right?

A/c to the New Testament, Jesus should have come back (parousia) within the lifetime of the apostles which he did not. He never said that he would come back after 200 or 2000 years. There is no hope of his coming back in the future. Why then do the evangelicals claim that the 2nd coming of Jesus is IMMINENT? Are they not cheating the people? It is plain as pikestaff that Christ's promise as well as prophecy of his 2nd coming within the lifetime of the apostles HAS FAILED!!! Moreover, much of what is found in the chapter "REVELATION" like ANTI-CHRIST, ARMAGEDDON, PAROUSIA, CHRIST'S MILLENNIAL RULE, RAPTURE, 666,etc., sound like COCK AND BULL STORY. Why should non-Christians believe all this balderdash?
