Of course He visitied the American Continent. He said to the natives living here that we are the other sheep of which he has spoken of.

Yes, I already knew about these concepts in the Book of Mormon.

Mormon_4_jesus, it seems that FallGirl's sources were the Church News, Gospel Principles, the Journals of Discourses, the Family Home Evening Manual, the book The Seer by Orson Pratt, the Encyclopedia of Mormonism, Jesus the Christ by Talmage, the LDS standard works, Mormon Doctrine by McConkie, as well as other talks given by General Authorities, many easily found at http://www.lds.org. I'm surprised that you would find all of these LDS resources to be "anti-Mormon" literature.

Yes, I have. Have you read the book "Who Really Wrote the Book of Mormon?". That is an equally interesting read and it puts a lot in the BOM in context!
Have you read about Quetzecoatl (sp) and how the description varies? This god can be a snake or have feathers. Sounds like Christ right?

I'm presuming you've actually reseached this subject thoroughly and concluded that these facts, as you assert, prove the BoM is true.

But, I'm willing to bet someone told you this in Sunday School, and you have not read ANY of the church publications except the coloring section of the Childrens Friend.

Other than that, this 'theory of a common white god' has been debunked completely, but the mormon mindset does not allow for facts contrary to a burnt bosom.

If you research Mormonism thoroughly pros and cons, check out the anti Mormon spin and the devout Mormon spin. Use all that info to make your own decision. I did that and my decision was this: I don't know how any sane human being could buy into the Mormon religion! I think Joseph Smith was a liar and a crook. Prior to my investigating I knew nothing about the Lds. A friend asked me to go to church with her and I did. It was so strange that I decided to research it with an open mind to see if it was the right church for me. I thought it was just another Christian church. It is far from Christian I believe. But research both sides like I did and make your own decision like I did. It makes sense to lots of people, but i just don't get how.

Here is an excellent site to go for info about the Mormon faith: http://www.mormonchallenge.com
This is an organization founded by former Mormons.

I have a lot of respect for the Mormons' degree of faith, however, they have been deceived. The presentations distributed at the site above provide very convincing evidence that much of the Mormon claims of "history" are not true.

Yes, apparently there are many parallels if one knows where to look. I have book called "He Walked the Americas" by L. Taylor Hansen and have been wondering how to go about verifying each story in the book - they cover a wide range of tribes and peoples and places.

While my dad was in the Navy, he found similar mythologies all over the world. From that experience, he always believed that Christ had possibly visited many places on the earth. So, of course, when he was first introduced to the Book of Mormon, it made perfect sense to him.

Yes, I have. I love the Book of Mormon.
Yes, they do. So I wonder why it is so impossible for people to believe that Christ came to the Americas. It seems there is plenty of evidence that He did by the beliefs held by those up and down the continent prior to the Europeans coming over.

fall girl, which anti-Mormon web site did you copy that from? I'm sure they want to get their share of the credit. Especially if they are in anyway copyrighted. More later.
