Rama had just one wife, Jesus never was married, Same I guess is with Mohammed too, Krishna is 'said to' have many wives. But each wife, is not telling the number of times he got married, Instead it is said to be each of his quality that is emphasised. Afterall, these are just what we read, we are not sure if Krishna had more wives or not. But I guess, there are many more useful things to learn from our epics, rather than counting wives and personal relations.

Social (marital) customs change with times and place. Polygamy was not illegal and not even uncommon in those times. Jesus was probably single, but he never wanted everyone to be single! Krishna had tons of wives, which was common for kings, Ram swore to have only one wife and his monogamy is an example of his uprightness. Mohammed had nearly a dozen wives, but polygamy was allowed in his tribe.
Every religion teaches us to be law-abiding citizens. Our prophets did not do anything that was (for their times) socially unacceptable.

Hey fool nobody is teaching you to have more wives. Instead of you getting into such practices as extra marital sex, homosexualism, rape, incest etc., certain religions have placed an upper limit (not the lower limit) on the number of legal sex partners you have so you are not crippled by such diseases as AIDS by your 'mooh-maro' nature. What will you do when your hypersexuality demands sex and your only wife has serious condition where she cant satisfy you? The no. of wives you have depends on you but since you cant go on marrying upto infinity some religions ordered an upper limit ONLY if you can satisfy them ALL. If not you may be a 'Crypto-Impotent' who cant satisfy one but would like to have as many just to show off like the feathers in the cap and thus hide his impotency

Rama had one, Jesus was not mariied ( but some think he had awife), Krishna had a few and Mahammed reportedly had many.
This knowledge is not going to help anyone. These people are not alive. At their time, we had ancestors living with them. Many of them had one wife, others had few and some had many wives. Each one of us has that legacy inherited and in our blood and soul. So, we do not have to find ot Rama or Krishna or Mohammed or Jesus as our role model for our decision on how many wives to marry. Whether more than one girl is prepared to marry a boy who wants to have more than one wives is also doubtful ; unless she is forced by oppression., she may not decide a man who thinks of keeping wives.
Rama did not teach anything to anybody. He is anidol because of his great knowlege, great powers, great sacrifices, selfless duty to all in the world, his honesty, his dedication to parents, wife, subjects and fans. One cannot just copy what he did about marrying wife. He has to be copied in totality. People would be scared to try that. The same is true about Kroshna. No one will try to practice his detachment, his mental and physical powers, his llove for everything in the World, his tolerance of wicked people and their abusive behaviour to him. He taught Arjuna to do his duty or work without nursing any desire to reap the benfits resulting from the work or duty. Who will follow his path or his teaching. It is a package: follow him and his teachings in totality and not merely his example of marriage.
Follow Jesus in extending selfless love to people and sacrifice life for the benefit of others. Mohammed provided leadership to people under oppression and social disorder. He brought order as much was needed and possible in the context of those time through emphasis on discipline and pious lliving. All these heroes lifted people from moras, dishonesty, chaos, oppression, ignorance to higher levels of living without any compensation in return. I bet anyone will follow them in their totality and sacrifice. Following what they did about marriage would be like monkey copying human beings shaving their beard.

they teaching us to have more wives?
I will let you know about Rama and Krishna.
Hazrat Mohammed and Jesus Christ both are two of the well known messengers of the God or Allah who preached God Consciousness according the neccessity of time place and circumstances just as any other messengers of God did in a different place and circumstances. As far as my limited knowledge is concerned, Jesus Christ is known to have married only Mary Magdelene and Hazrat Mohammed accepted many wives.
Lord Rama had only one wife for which he was well-known all over the world. Everyone knows Lord Rama as, eka-patni-vrata-dharah—taking a vow not to accept a second wife or to have any connection with any other woman.
Srimad Bhagavatam, 9.10.54, mentions
"LORD RAMACHANDRA TOOK A VOW TO ACCEPT ONLY ONE WIFE AND HAVE NO CONNECTION WITH ANY OTHER WOMEN. He was a saintly king, and everything in His character was good, untinged by qualities like anger. He taught good behavior for everyone, especially for householders, in terms of varnasrama-dharma. Thus He taught the general public by His personal activities.
Purport by A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada,
Founder-Acharya of ISKCON
(International Society for Krishna Consciousness)
Eka-patn-vrata, accepting only one wife, was the glorious example set by Lord Ramacandra. One should not accept more than one wife. In those days, of course, people did marry more than one wife. Even Lord Ramacandra's father accepted more wives than one. But Lord Ramacandra, as an ideal king, accepted only one wife, mother Sita. When mother Sita was kidnapped by Ravana and the Raksasas, Lord Ramacandra, as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, could have married hundreds and thousands of Sitas, but to teach us how faithful He was to His wife, He fought with Ravana and finally killed him. The Lord punished Ravana and rescued His wife to instruct men to have only one wife. Lord Ramacandra accepted only one wife and manifested sublime character, thus setting an example for householders. A householder should live according to the ideal of Lord Ramacandra, who showed how to be a perfect person. Being a householder or living with a wife and children is never condemned, provided one lives according to the regulative principles of varnasrama-dharma. Those who live in accordance with these principles, whether as householders, brahmacaris or vanaprasthas, are all equally important.
Lord Rama and Krishna are the self same Supreme Personality of Godead. In Treta Yuga Lord Rama taught by accepting one wife and in Dvapara Yuga Lord Krishna taught by example to perform the duties of the houselholder. The difference between the ordinary human being and the Supreme Personality of Godhead is that, although Krishna married 16,108 queens, Krishna provided each queen with a palace and other requirements which a ordinary human being cannot provide. But, a human being can learn from Krishna's daily activity which he taught by his personal example as seen below.
Chapter eighty of "Krishna,The Supreme Personality of Godhead" by A.C.Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada,
Founder-Acharya of ISKCON
(International Society for Krishna Consciousness)
Although Srimati Rukminidevi, the first queen of Lord Krishna, knew that brahma-muhurta is the most auspicious time in the entire day, she would feel disgusted at the appearance of brahma-muhurta because she was not very happy to have Krishna leave her side in bed. Despite Srimati Rukminidevi’s disgust, Lord Krishna would immediately get up from bed exactly on the appearance of brahma-muhurta. An ideal householder should learn from the behavior of Lord Krishna how to rise early in the morning, however comfortably he may be lying in bed embraced by his wife.
After rising from bed, Lord Krishna would wash His mouth, hands and feet and would immediately sit down and meditate on Himself. This does not mean, however, that we should also sit down and meditate on ourselves. We have to meditate upon Krishna, Radha-Krishna. That is real meditation. Krishna is Krishna Himself; therefore He was teaching us that brahma-muhurta should be utilized for meditation on Radha-Krishna. By such meditation Krishna would feel very much satisfied, and similarly we will also feel transcendentally pleased and satisfied if we utilize the brähma-muhürta period to meditate on Radha and Krishna and if we think of how Sri Rukminidevi and Krishna acted as ideal householders to teach the whole human society to rise early in the morning and immediately engage in Krishna consciousness. There is no difference between meditating on the eternal forms of Radha-Krishna and chanting the maha-mantra, Hare Krishna. As for Krishna's meditation, He had no alternative but to meditate on Himself. The object of meditation is Brahman, Paramatma or the Supreme Personality of Godhead, but Krishna Himself is all three: He is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Bhagavan; the localized Paramatma is His plenary partial expansion; and the all-pervading Brahman effulgence is the personal rays of His transcendental body. Therefore Krishna is always one, and for Him there is no differentiation. That is the difference between an ordinary living being and Krishna.
