Next will probably be Islam.
It's slightly more advanced than Christianity, but not by much.

It is amazing how absurd that is. 1) It is the basic of all religion, because it is the Basis of where all other regions "Sprung" off of in some manner, shape, or form. And It is even more amazing is that these other so called "Advanced" Religions are 1)About money & 2) About power, or growth THROUGH the machine, IF you can understand that logic. Scientology requires a standard "Fee" and numerous "Rites." Buddists believe in 20 versions of Heaven and Hell. Christianity (& the "Hebrews") its simple BLACK and WHITE. Either you believe, OR YOU DON'T. There's no gray line, no secret voodoo witch-craft to perform, there's no "Money Pyramid," There's only a set of 10 simple rules. Now we KNOW they are difficult and THAT is the main reason people abandon it. But the central point is YOU TRY to strive to do the best you can AND STILL function in this world. There's no gloating. No acting "Holier than Thou." Just simple "Living."

Christianity isn't for begginers, and so are all other religions. In fact there is no such thing as a religion for begginers. All religions have their own different beliefs and traditions. It's your opinion if you think that Christianity is easier compared to other religions because you don't have to pray 5 times a day. Now if your looking for a religion that doesn't have many rules and expectations then perhaps you should just stay an atheist.
If you really beleive, then visit many churhes of different religions and pick wich one you beleive in and wich one you will truly stick to and not use it as a starting point to go to other religions. I hope you do the right thing.

You can never master Christianity, is not basic. For me it is vital. You how much it takes for a true Christian to overcome sin. You see, many people call themseves Christians but most of those people really never go to church, read the Bible, preach the word, be good to others, pray, have a special relationship with God, and overcome sin. If your a strong Christian, the devil will try to make you fall by temptating you. Let's take me as an example, I love pretty girls so much that I only think about sex. This thought makes me and other guys think more sexual, perverted. Some guys go to the extreme of buying porn, adultry, rape, and ect. You see, how the mind goes. Also, it is easy for anyone to love something or someone more than God, which makes it a sin. For example, I love so much the money that I had stop going to church or pray to God. There is no such thing has been perfect because we are not. Just continue to be strong in God and you'll do fine.

Jeremy the German had the most appropriate response. The idea that Christianity is perhaps a 'starting point' as posed by the question, implies that the search for God is accomplished by human effort. Nothing could be further from the truth.
The Bible teaches that relationship with God, and reconciliation to Him, is not accomplished by our own efforts, or striving. Finding Him, developing a closer relationship with Him, is not a matter of our own intellect or abilities.
This is what makes Christianity a great Equalizer among all men. It's designed simplicity makes it fully understandable and as much a fulfilling reality for the slave, as the king. It is not religion for the Elite only. God makes this reality most poignant in the Bible, by using average men to accomplish his most important goals.
You don't 'Master' christianity. God, the one who CREATED you, MASTERS you.

Sho-nuff ,
My question to you is, and maybe I can gave you a better answer, which religions do you think are more advanced and why?
Good point Sho-nuff. But, sadly it is most of so-called "Christians" who never reach that point. Most are hypocrites always pointing the finger at someone else, and never searching their own heart.
Look at the following passages,
Philippians 2:12
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?
Matthew 7:1-5
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

In Christianity, it's not about what man can do, because there is nothing you can do to get to heaven other than believe in Christ. All other religions are about how much you can do, basically trying to win a seat in heaven, and that is just human nature... wanting to figure it out on our own. That is one reason that it is easy to see that Christianity is not a man-made religion, but one inspired by God. It goes against human nature in that man can't come close to doing enough, so there really is no point in even trying. God just tells us to believe because if He gave us anything else to do, we'd probably botch that up too. God just gives us a place in heaven when we believe in Christ. And yes, like you said, it IS that simple.
(Im also kinda confused with the term beginners... does that mean there are professional religions? I just don't really get it)

It's for beginners and masters alike. Truth is for everyone not just some.
Sadly many Christian sects have made Christianity much more simple than it is. If you really think Christianity is simple then you haven't done anything more than surface study.
Saying Christianity is simple is like saying existence is simple.
We are commanded to be perfect...man, I had no idea it was soo easy!

Gnosticism was a pretty metally DEEP form of Christianity, so I'd actually have to disagree. I think most of us start out as Christians because it's what we were raised in and those of us who had the karma to do so, questioned it and moved on.
