Isn't that a contradiction of "thou shalt not kill"?

In one part, he even wants people killed for working on the sabbath. (exodus 31:15)

Isn't that a bit overly violent?

If all that you say is true about everything being "faith" based and the bible, although written by man, was still written by the hand of God, how do you know that the bible was not actually written by the hand of Satan? Do you really propose that, according to your scripture, a mere human could've known the difference? What if the burning bush and the ten commandments were also created by Satan? Satan is known for such trickery, isn't he?

You never know, you guys may be right about God, Jesus, heaven and hell, but the Devil made the bible so completely unbelievable so as to claim more souls that refused to believe in it!

I've heard this stated in the Catholic Church but can't seem to validate it. Is there a specific day this occurs?

And if you answer yes, are you aware that you are destroying the scientific credibility of our Nation and exposing us as a laughing stock to the world?

On it, a scientist stated that this would become the greatest catastrophe in human history!

Interesting, the Bible said that before the end - the Great Tribulation would happen. It would be so great that if God didn't cut it short nothing would survive on earth, according to the Bible.

Where are the scoffers now, the nay sayers? Non believers -- it's coming and God offers you salvation in one way only!

Will you have faith in God, and his Son so as get saved?

I have heard before that many people view God as they do their dad. And, also that a person's relationship w/ God tends to be like the one they have with their dad. For example if your dad was easy to talk to and to go to w/ problems God would be the same for you. . . .or if your dad was simply the punisher, the one you did not want to have to talk to that you would view God the same way. Does anyone feel this way?

the bible does mention dinosaurs... just thought i would share because i always see someone asking why the bible never mentioned it =)

The word “dinosaur” was originally coined in 1841, more than three thousand years after the Bible first referred to “Tanniyn.” (Tanniyn is mention as a dragon but can also be translated as serpent,” “sea monster,” “dinosaur,” “great creature,” and “reptile.”)

The bible specifically talks about the Behemoth and Leviathan

here it is from the bible...

Behemoth(brachiosaurus) has the following attributes according to Job 40:15-24:
It “eats grass like an ox.”
It “moves his tail like a cedar.” (In Hebrew, this literally reads, “he lets hang his tail like a cedar.”)
Its “bones are like beams of bronze,
His ribs like bars of iron.”
“He is the first of the ways of God.”
“He lies under the lotus trees,
In a covert of reeds and marsh.”

Does anyone disagree that the bible does not mention Dinosaurs?

...when the Bible says He rose again on the third day?
If that is really the case, then Christians should celebrate His ressurection on Monday.

I am also a Christian, a Catholic in fact, but I'm confused...

If Jesus was the real Messiah of Jewish prophecy, if he truly was the fulfilment of ancient prophecy, then by definition and Jewish law he MUST have had to be of the bloodline of the House of David, the ancient Kings of Israel. There are no ifs or buts about it.

So this means, Jesus had to have flowing in his veins the blood of the last legitimate King of Israle, Zedekiah, who was murdered along with his entire family, except one (Princess Tamar Tephi) around 595-593 BCE by Nebuchadnezzar.

It is recorded that Jeremiah took Princess Tamar, the standard (the Jerusalem Lion/Lion of Judah), the harp of David and the Stone of Destiny, the scone stone to Ireland for safe keeping by at least 585-589 BCE. Jeremiah died in Ireland and his ancient tomb still exists.

So where did the ancestors of Jesus actually come from after 580BCE to 6CE? Given we still have the stone of destiny, the lion of judah used by England, why doesn't the Vatican want to talk about Ireland?

When I was growing up in the Catholic church, they always carried on about how "without the ressurection, our faith is meaningless". It seemed really silly at the time and it still does. I'd always thought that the message was supposed to be the important bit. Even as a kid I always thought the ressurection was a bit far fetched anyway.

Do you guys need it to be true to hold onto your faith?

Why does it have to be God's doing? Why can't it be a natural phenomenon. I believe in it but everyone i talk to about it laughs and says I can't be both, but no one has a good answer why. Any thoughts?
