I just read this news story:
LONDON, APRIL 5, 2007 (Zenit.org).- Catholic bioethicists welcomed a recent breakthrough in the treatment of heart disease using adult stem cells taken from bone marrow.
Researches from a London-area hospital, led by Sir Magdi Yacoub, have grown part of a human heart from adult stem cells offering hope for millions of cardiac patients. The new tissue could be used in place of artificial valves currently used in heart disease treatment. ...
Father Paul Murray, secretary of the committee, said: "Sir Magdi and his team generated the heart tissue from stem cells found in bone marrow. The technique is ethical because the stem cells were taken from the patient's own bone marrow rather than from an embryo in the first few days of life."
BBC News reported on Monday one of the medical advantages of the new treatment: "In theory, if the valve was grown from the patient's own cells there would also be no need to take drugs to stop the body rejecting it."

Lets say that at the age of 1 while holidaying with your family in Tibet you got separated from them (lost, kidnapped) but you were found by a Tibetan family and brought up as a Tibetan from the age of 1 until the present day.

My question...

What religion would you be? Would you believe in god? Bare in mind that the country is predominately Buddhist with the exception of a small community of Tibetan Muslims. There are hardly any Christians so it is highly unlikely that you would know the bible or the teachings of Jesus.

I have heard several pastors in the past year become "political" from the pulpit...endorsing specific candidates and/or a specific party.

If this is the wave of the future...shouldn't churches pay taxes like any other corporation?

What about the very few people in the world who have never even heard of him, lets say in africa and poor countries? Do they go to hell for eternal punishment? Is this an exception? Or the millions who have just not been brough into a religious world and therefore do not believe in Jesus? Does he send them to hell, for eternity? Is that fair? Is Jesus fair? Would Jesus like people spreading these things about him making people fear him? Silly belief. Jesus did not necessarily say this at all, it's an interpretation. A silly one.

Isnt the Bible more like stories to live by? Maybe SOME of the storys arent meant to be taken seriously, just a story with a moral, to teach us a lesson. Im not saying all, but maybe a few, but that many people use to apoint one's views. What your view on this?

Jesus taught us to pray: 'Our Father, may your name be holy ( or sanctified). Let your kingdom come...your will be done on earth as it is in heaven' (Mat 6:9,10)

Questions: Why pray that God's name be sanctified or be made holy, who sullied it?

What is the name of God, and why is that name not found in many bibles?

Why did Jesus say: May your kingdom COME. Why not : May your kingdom Go Up (many anyway say we shall go to heaven)

Why did he pray: may your will be done on earth? Whose will is being done here anyways?

Since these are biblical questions I will consider only Biblical answers, fair enough?

This is a question for young and old.Your soul is the most precious thing we own.So how is everyone taking care of it?
Life is like a vipor. And death comes no matter what age you are. You can be the best person in the world but ,if you have not accepted Jesus Christ - then Hell will be your eternal home. This world has nothing to offer any of us. So we have hell to loose and Heaven to gain. I myself would rather have Jesus and live in total peace and happiness . Let's face it- one of the two places will be all of our final place forever and forever. This world is not worth my never dying soul - is it your's ?

When atheists come on Y!A R&S to explain things to theists, it is clear that the one reason we *don't* have for doing it is sucking up to a deity. For the religious, it's not so clear cut - do they proselytise out of selfless concern for the welfare of others' souls or is it a rather more down-to-earth point-scoring exercise in anticipation of an eventual reward from their god?
