Personally I like the ones which deal with deep and meaningful stuff - the nature of morality, origins of life, origin of the universe, free will, intelligence, things like that.

Quite a few people here will drop a scripture or two on your question and then walk away...I guess they are not very sure in their answer or faith...if they are not open to discussion or dialogue?

It is very important to me to find out what will happen to my fish's soul when it dies because it is very sick. I love my fish and I cannot bear to think that it will just die and rot. I love it and it makes my day. Help me please.

By definition: Fear is feeling of anxiety: an unpleasant feeling of anxiety or apprehension caused by the presence or anticipation of danger.

When I was growing up most people including myself *feared* our parents you knew you had to be home at a certain time, or you had homework to do, or chores etc...This is what kept you in line..doing what you were told because your parents knew what was best for you. They love you,

Today's society Kids have lost thier fear of parents, they have been told your parents cannot discipline you, so you have a generation of children who do not respect there parents, teachers, or GOD....
Do you agree that teaching Fear within reason causes people to want to do good?

Many people seem to believe that all the answers (and non answers) to their prayers as well as all the bad and good stuff that happened to them, their loved ones , their communities and/or world, will be explained once they get to heaven.

Since "God works in mysterious ways" and "His ways are incomprehensible to us" it seems to follow that people believe they will suddenly achieve the same level of intelligence and comprehension that God has, simply by virtue of going to heaven.

Is this the correct interpretation? or am I missing something? What do you believe?

Seems like they twist the bible around so much and have such an "exclusive" air about them it's hard to describe them as christians.

Please give book, chapter, and verse.

1. "There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death."

2. "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

3. "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD."

... or are your periods of back-sliding better spent by exploration of other options.

Wouldn't you agree that the validity of your beliefs are, at the very least, doubtful if they are frequently in need of restoration? And, isn't this naturally occuring unrest within you a reason enough to cause you to pause and reconsider other possibilities rather than making a hasty retreat to the same familiar trench?

I am a child of my father and my mother and the sea
I am a child of the forest and of the glen and of the lea
I am a child of the moon I am a child of the sun
I am a child of the universe
All these yet only one

I am a child of the clouds that drift across the sky above
I am a child of the music that translates itself to love
I am a child of the gentle drops that make the springtime rain
I am a child of the universe
A child who knows of pain

I am a child of the zephyr that is wild inside its core
I am a child of the waves and sand that line the ocean's shore
I am a child of the hawk that rides the current of the wind
I am a child of the universe
That gladly takes me in

“The children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 8.12)

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets and stonest them that are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold your house is left unto you desolate.” (Matthew 23.37,38) Then answered all the people (Jews) and said, “His blood be on us and on our children” (Matthew 27:25). 1 “But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you to councils, and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten” (Mark 13.9)

this was a recent answer about whether or not animals have morals:

HUmans are not animals, animals are just animals. Evolution is not true. If we evovled from monkeys, where's the evidence? SUre they found bones, but scientists change the bones up and force bones together and make it look like something else like a half human-half monkey.
