this was a recent answer about whether or not animals have morals:
HUmans are not animals, animals are just animals. Evolution is not true. If we evovled from monkeys, where's the evidence? SUre they found bones, but scientists change the bones up and force bones together and make it look like something else like a half human-half monkey.

do you think that if creationists showed a little more intelligence in their debate it might help their cause?

The real problem is, Evolution is a theory designed to explain certain observable facts, while Creationism is a preconceived notion that they try to find evidence for. Evolution is science, Creationism is religion. They were arrived at by totally opposite means.
Also Creationists don't bother to understand the theory they're trying to debunk, so yeah it makes them look stupid. How can they be so sure it's not true if they don't even know what it says? Because their opinion must be right, regardless of any evidence or facts!

Theoretically its because Creationists are just supporting an arbitraty assertion. "God did it". You see disproving the existance of evolution wouldn't prove the existance of a creator god.
But the main reason is that they often show that they have a really poor understanding of evolution when they argue that it doesn't happen.
For example you've just suggested a rather strange conspiracy theory about archeologists creating composite skeletons from humans and apes, when alot of ancient homonids are known from their skulls and other structures would be impossible to construct by combining human and ape bones.
As for the evidence, its you're job to educate yourself before you start making proclaimations like "evolution is not true" (first of all thats not even grammatically correct). The best online resource I'm aware of is http://www.talkorigins.org/origins/faqs-qa.html there you can find list after list of sourced and cited answers to pretty much any question you could have about evolution.

Yes. I also thought that that this response was extremely lacking in any depth of thought. The stupid notion that scientists claim that humans evolved from monkeys, the stupid notion that there is no evidence, and the all around lack of thought that went into this post demonstrates how some people parrot the rubbish that they are taught without any desire or ability to determine whether or not it is true, and they have the foolishness to believe that anyone not as indoctrinated as themselves might possibly find value in their gibberish. This person is evidence that humans have not evolved all that far from "monkeys".

People who accept the fact of evolution have such a hard time taking "creationism" seriously simply because there is NO PROOF for it.
None.
Zero.
Zip.
Provide some proof, and it will be seriously considered. Don't provide proof, and "creationism" is not worth considering.
The ignorance of many creationists, while disheartening, has nothing to do with taking it seriously or not. Evidence. E-V-I-D-E-N-C-E.
That's what it's all about.
Peace.

The first thing is to get away from the Evolution issue.
It's CREATION vs RANDOMISM
Both sides agree on most aspects of Evolution.
Without evolution there wouldn't be WOMEN MINSTERS.
That's a fact.
Islam, Judaism and Christianty are opposed to WOMEN talking or being active in the Church beyond sitting in the audience and listening to a MAN tell her about God.
Evolution is slow change through natural factors.
The Protestant religion is proof of Social Evolution.
The Catholic Church has shown it with letting MASS be in local language instead of LATIN and letting them eat Roast Beef on Friday, except for Good Friday.
That is ample proof of evolution.
It's about a CREATOR, a WILLFULL AND INTENTIONAL HAND OF ACTION vs a RANDOM THROW OF THE DICE
That's where the issue lies
Did we GET HERE because THINGS HAPPEN ACCIDENTALLY or were we put here by someone for a reason with intent and willful actions.
See, INTELLGENT design is cool with schools, science and atheists so long as a HUMAN PERSON did the designing.
The moment it's something NOT OF THIS EARTH, something more COSMIC, something GREATER, well that just is a fantasy!
Boy, aren't they pretty EGO CENTRIC
MAN is the GREATEST THING IN THE UNIVERSE and there is NOTHING GREATER
Pretty EGO CENTRIC to my way of thinking!

i think this illustrates an important point. For every "intelligent" person who believes in Christianity, there are 10 who are just about as ignorant as any human being can be. Atheists will never convince people God doesn't exist, but they don't need to. Just raise the intelligence of the dumbest religious people and we will all be much better off.

I hate to tell you this, but Evolution is NOT a theory... it is a well proven fact.
Why do you people keep zeroing in on the "man comes from monkeys" idiot saying and totally ignore all of the PROOF of evolution in the many sub-species of every animal.

It just shows that that one individual was ignorant about evolution although a lot of creationists do use similarly weak and fatally flawed arguments to try and challenge evolution.

Well, more intelligence and more honesty. There do seem to be some intelligent ones among the leaders of the movement, but they're just as dishonest as the grassroots creationists, if not even more so.
