Don't screw with this stuff, get yourself to a doctor straight away. Praying will not lift a true depression. It's nothing to do with God or your relationship to your religion, it is as much a physical problem as a broken leg or a head cold. See a doctor.

Depression sucks. Been there and still struggling.
I would recommend going in for therapy. It is helping me so much, but I caution against using medications. They only temporarily take away the problem and they might not work.
In the meantime, try to do activities that help other people. Volunteer and you may be surprised about how much this will help you.
Crying may not help, but being active about your problems will!
Use positive affirmations in the morning when you wake. Say something like, I'm so happy that I can see another beautiful day.
Keep on with your faith. Perhaps see a pastor or something like that.
Just don't give up on life. You have to realize that it's impossible that our lives will always be good. Everybody experiences bad stuff in our lives and we have to be strong about it.
If you are having suicidal thoughts then call a suicide hot line or tell your parents.
Well, I hope you overcome your depression. Also, remember that depression doesn't last forever. You will be happy again.

IF YOU DON'T READ ANYTHING ELSE, READ THIS!

Depression is awful. I have been there.

The first thing to understand is that it will get better! Don't give in and start believing that this is permanent. Keep reminding yourself of this every day.

You may need to have some help from a doctor with medicine to help you get out of the depression. But exercise often works just as well as medication. It has to be hard exercise to help a lot. The problem is that we don't want to exercise when we are depressed!

Next, are there sins in your life that you feel guilty about? If there are, there is a way to feel clean and free again.

Get on your knees and talk to God about it, don't bother telling Him lies, He knows all your thoughts. Tell Him that you are sorry, and promise Him that you will try your hardest to never repeat what you've done. Then ask Him for the gift of His forgiveness, and then try to forgive anyone who has ever offended or hurt you or your loved ones.

Pray for strength from His love. He will give it!

Good luck! I will pray for you.

Hello,
You just need to continue to pray and ask God for encouragement because he doesn't make any mistakes. You are here for a reason, and eventually you will realize how you can be a help to others. Just continue to thank God for your Blessings and know that there are so many people out there in situation far worse than your own, and do what you can to share your knowledge. I too suffer with depression but I have to remember that he woke me up this morning therefore I am blessed! God Bless you!

Please dont loose heart. Start reading the holy book of your relegion. It will have all the answers you need. God will help you. Sometimes we do have to suffer like this even though we pray. Thats because God wants are previous sins to be nullified. I hope you are taking the counsellors help. Suicide is a sin so there is no point in praying to God and then thinking about commiting a sin. this is despair. Pray for tolerance, strength instead. We all have to go through our good and bad phases of life. But all of us dont think of committing suicide. If everyone starts thinking like that what will happen? if I asked you a similar question because I had to suffer many times in life would you say :" then go and commit suicide"? There are people in this world who are in a worst state than you(materially) , yet they dont think of commiting suicide.thier is poverty, mental and physical disability and so much. God has gifted you a life use it for charity, benevolence, spiritual and mental upliftment. You will see how quickly your grief disappears. And yes do keep in mind that medication is also necessary for treating depression.

Volunteer.

Connect with a community charity and do some volunteer work. Helping people in worse conditions than you are will help you appreciate how much you have now, and make you feel good about yourself for selflessly raising the spirits of others.

one night i dreamed i was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each scene i noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because i noticed that during the low periods of my life, when i was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could only see one set of footprints. So i said to the Lord, "You promised me Lord, that if I followed you, you would always walk with me. But i have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life there have been only one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when i needed you most, you have not been there for me?"
The Lord replied, "The times when you have seen only one set of foptprints in the sand, is when I carried you."

Long term depression may be due to a chemical imbalance in the brain. You may need to visit a doctor to subscribe a anti-depression medication.
