No. Simple answer is that it is against the rules. A better answer is that not eating meat is a very small sacrifice. We sacrifice something in a meager attempt to be more like Jesus who sacrificed all. Truth to tell, I like seafood. Eating seafood is not exactly a sacrifice for me. Maybe I should eat leaves and twigs, that would be more of a sacrifice.

Happy Easter.

Hi Harry,I am a Catholic and I will not be eating meat today out of respect for the death of Christ and because it is such a small sacrifice to perform.

No, I will not eat meat today.

The Catholic Church and many other Christians Churches follow the Biblical practice of Jesus Christ and the Jews in setting aside days where the entire Church fasts and prays as one in a attitude of constant renewal.

By the solemn forty days of Lent the Church unites herself each year to the mystery of Jesus in the desert and in spiritual preparation for the celebration of His Passion, Death, and Resurrection.

This season of penance is an intense moments of the Church's penitential practice and are particularly appropriate for spiritual exercises, penitential liturgies, pilgrimages as signs of penance, voluntary self-denial such as fasting and almsgiving, and charitable and missionary works.

With love in Christ.

No- out of respect for my Lord's Passion and death, and I have to say, if there is one who says yes, then they aren't a very good practicing Catholic.

I am an atheist but I'm also a vegetarian, so I don't eat meat on any day. Hang on, babies aren't considered meat are they?
