Where can I find it in the Bible?

2007-04-04 11:27:50 · 24 answers · asked by Anonymous

From what I undertand doing everything required in any religion will get you to heaven or whatever. I always thought that to be the ultimate selfish act. I am Agnostic and Athiest and I do good because it want society on earth to be better. I am not looking to be rewarded by heaven. thats not my motivation for being a good person.

and Atheists call this logic than think about this.
1. the big bang says that everything was made by chance out of an explosion if that is true that must mean that explosions make things the atomic bomb was a "big bang" what did it create other than destruction. and what about broken glass does it break into perfectly equal parts or a mess.
2. If something as complex as a human being hs no creator would you beleive me if i said that the chair your sitting on right now 1. was the result of an explosion 2. came by chance 3. has no creator?
3. If as some say that because you can't see, feel, taste, smell, or hear God he does not exist does that mean that your brain does not exist cause i sure can't see it feel it taste smell it or hear it. Perhaps u dont exist.
People who do not beleive in God think about your beleifs
does it make sense? any logic in it if so what is that logic and do you have answers to what i have just pointed out.
thanks
(sorry the questions so long)

I've been wanting to start a project, locally, called "The Healing Earth Circle". The sole purpose is to bring together Pagans, Witches and other magickal people. The direct goal will be to bring together our energies through spell work, ritual and energy work to help strengthen our Mother Earth - as she is declining in heath, rapidly.

I'm wondering if there are already projects like this in existence? If so, how can I get in touch with the group?

Thanks in advance and blessed be!

I am Catholic. I had a maternal grandmother who was Presbyterian. The family moved to a small community in Texas that had only 2 churches, not Presbyterian. Ministers from both churches paid a call on the family but one of the ministers made disparaging comments about the other church. After he left my grandmother said," I can tell you one thing, we are not going to his church."
I heard a priest tell about a family in East Texas who became Catholic. What had impressed them is they knew a Catholic family that never had any unkind thing to say about another's faith. Shouldn't we all realize that our comments sometimes reflect on us and on our religion.

Do you ever find that you dislike a person so much or have noticed such a substandard pattern in their answers that you're compelled to "thumbs down" any answer they've submitted?

It seems to me that certain users receive at least 1 or 2 "thumbs down" on all of their responses no matter what they post... anyone else notice?

I'm turning 21 on May 5th. My sister and her friend are driving over here, and some of my friends are going to spend the evening with us, too. I know that everyone goes out and traditionally, gets smashed on their 21st birthdays. Is it okay if I just have one or two drinks instead of going crazy and getting drunk? I wouldn't get drunk off of two drinks. I want to have a good time, but I also don't want to disappoint God. What do you think?

Isn't that just a way of putting ones self above you and judging your lifestyle?

I actually had a long-time friend tell me that she was quite sure that we were going to 2 different places when we die but that we could still be friends in the meantime...

I told her she was wrong about the latter part...

I was sitting in World History today and was thinking (we were learning about the Crusades and other Christain wars) and I was thinking: If Christians are so against murder and stuff like that why have they started so many wars/confrentations to "Protect the Faith" said Pope Urban II when he wanted men to fight in the Crusades "Des Vult!" or God Wills It! Again my real question is Why are people in Christianity so against War even though their faith has started so many wars in the past? Also why do Christain support most wars that are "protecting the faith"?

I was in a grocery store in Austin, Tx rushing down the aisle to pick some things before closing time and when I turned a corner I almost ran over a person in a full black veil. You could not see the face nor even the person's eyes. I say person instead of woman 'cause you really could not tell. I have no issues with veiled woman. I've been friends with some at work and in school. But they always showed their faces and were normal citizens of society. What is the purpose of covering your whole identity?

I live in an area where religions such as wicca aren't excepted. I was raised to be a Christian, but my beliefs don't lie in those teachings. I'm very interested in learning about the wiccan religion, but that's hard with where I live. I've done research, but I want to talk to someone who follows that path. If you don't mind talking to me and helping me learn, please reply to this and I will give you an e-mail or screenname so that we can talk. I will be so gratefull to anyone who will help me learn and understand this religion. Lord and Lady bless.

I am a Christian as well. I'm asking you all to join me in a peaceful effort to end retorts of anger to non-believers and hecklers. Our Lord dealt with being heckled even on the cross. So instead of anger we shall give blessings. When heckled, let us all answer from now on by saying God Bless You! Will you all join me? Praise God!

that about this time every day the haters seem to get more numerous and disrespectful? Could it be that school is out? I'm not being sarcastic. I am actually asking if you think it could be because people of a young age and limited experience have taken over the net. Not that all kids are hateful or disrespectful but I think you understand what I mean.
