I can't speak for other people, maybe they're only interested in the points, perhaps they're not creative enough to come up with good questions. I don't know. I can speak from personal experience when I say that a much higher percentage of my questions get deleted than my answers. I don't bother appealing any more so unless I genuinely need an answer, or when I'm in a bit of a playful mood lol, I don't ask that many. Just seen your additional info. If you read the blogs as to the standard of questions Yahoo envisaged being asked here, they are a converse of an intellectually high nature. Reading your additional information now makes me now question this very ethic, should Y!A have been designed for such questions, I am sure the intellect of it's user's would make the arena obsolete inside a week lol I've never understood that monkey expression. I've heard it said about the complete works of William Shakespeare. Theoretically, a monkey would type up Titus Andronicus in it's entirety except for a single "typo" in the middle of third act. Discard of this rubbish and re-type it in it's complete 21,000 word form. I can't see where the substance from such a commonly used argument comes from. Hang on, I feel question 75 coming on lol

No, I don't waste my time with such petty nonsense. Actually, I rarely give thumbs down. I prefer giving thumbs up to answers I liked.
I don't doubt that people do that, though. I have noticed some of the more vocal ones have some thumbs down, even when there is really no apparent reason for it.

I never thumbs down anyone just because of who they are. I only give thumbs down if their answer is bad or does not really answer the question or something like that. Most of the time, if I don't like the answer, I just leave it alone and don't give it a thumbs down. It has to be really bad or spouting off hatred for me to give it a thumbs down.

No, I don't play that game. I may not agree with someone, but if their answer is logical and well thought-out, I'll give them a thumbs-up. There are a few people that I'm not overly fond of here, but if they give good answers, they get a thumbs-up.
I'm objective enough that I can separate my personal feelings for someone from the validity and thoughtfulness of their replies.

I rarely give a thumbs down to an answer unless it is extremely rude or racist remarks. I *have* noticed that some users repeatedly get thumbs down and it's pretty obvious that it's not for that particular answer. It's more like they have stalkers. It's amusing actually. What "stalkers" will stoop to!

I have noticed thumbs down on my answers, no matter what it's about. I only thumbs down inappropriate or offensive answers. I usually thumbs up or leave alone.

Ok, I will come clean. There are a couple of people who I do tend to give thumbs down to. Its not every time, but pretty often. Of course the answers they give would probably inspire thumbs down even if it weren't them.

I don't mind when someone disagrees with what i believe. The only time I will "thumbs down" is if their answer is mean spirited or objectionable. I base it on the answer itself. If that persons answers are always mean and objectionable, then that is why they always get a thumbs down by me.

No. Never just because it is a certain person.
Because the answerer is being overly insensitive or rude, yes
Because the answer has nothing to do with the question, yes
Because they spend $10 on an answer that could have been answered for $ 0.25, yes
