"There be some standing here, that shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of Man coming in his Kingdom"
Any normal interpretation would read this as predicting that the Second Coming would occur in the lifetime of some of his audience. It didn't happen.
I accept that it's a sword that cuts both ways. If it diminishes our belief in Christ's omniscience, it increases our respect for the integrity of the Gospel text. Anyone who just wanted to present a plausible account would have removed these words.

Honestly, a person could easily wonder if you are hiding a secret you don't want anyone to know about.

Christians have a warped sense of reality, especially evangelicals.

I'm Agnostic but believe any sort of higher power exists about as much as I believe there is no higher power. It is, quite simply, as much a matter of faith to believe that God (or whom/whatever) exists as to believe there is nothing beyond the common experience we call life. Quite simply, there is no way to prove or disprove any sort of higher force/energy/consciousness/being.
I see a lot of people on here claiming to be Agnostic while demanding that God (or what/whomever) does not exist.
I can understand being Agnostic but still believing in a god or absence thereof. Belief does not require evidence. I could believe in God or not and still remain Agnostic so long as I admit that it is beyond my ability (or that of anyone else) to know. This is at the heart of Agnosticism. It is a philosophy based on the acknowledgement of the limit of our ability to know.
Why do people claim to be Agnostic while adamantly refusing any concept of a higher "thing" and claiming they know it to be true?

Many people believe that all Christians are out to do is to judge and make life for gays hard. However a true Christian does not judge and only wants to share THE GOOD NEWS OF JESUS CHRIST and to help others, not harm others. Christian bashing has become trendy, a few people do not represent the entire Body of Christ. I ask that before you answer this question, think about the people who claim to represent Christians and then speak to a real Believer in Christ, who has dedicated his or her life to serving Christ and being more Christ like. Which doesn't mean being self righteous, but denying ones self as Christ did, Helping others, loving unconditionally and doing the will of The Father.

The word of God say's that many people say father, father, but children of the devil they are for they do things of this world, say's the lord.
It doesn't matter how happy this person has made you, because in the end the lord is the one who isn't happy. Many things make people happy in this world drugs, sex, thieft, lies and non of this make God happy so stop lying to yourself by saying its the best thing that happen to you. The media is crazy dont conform to the ways of this world.

1000's of Christians are being murdered by Muslims everyday - Why aren't their Christian Brothers helping - but instead they are trying to liberate a country with majority Muslims? Is it because they are African? If this was happening in Europe - would you have the same apathetic attitude that you have for your Christian brothers in the Sudan?

I was reading a textbook, and it stated that the birth of Jesus is not exactly known. They estimate it to be within 4-8 B.C. That doesnt neccesarily makes sense, because how can he be born, before he was born. Also before Jesus rose, were those thirty years still accounted for in human time, beacause we measure dates A.D. And lastly if that were true, wouldnt that mean that the all the world history is incorrect?

Each directory has anything from 20 to 150 files.

A person that believes themselves a Witch may Join a Wiccan Circle/Coven, but Wiccans do not have to be witches. Therefore the studies of the two are separated.
I do wish those of the Bibles, would take time to learn more than what they are told or read from a single Book by reading actual documents of other religions before they get childishly snotty.

It happens all the time here, christians talk about atheists questioning their beliefs or accussing us of being closet believers.

Don't they understand that by definition, an atheist is devoid of beliefs?

Instead we rely on knowledge and reasoning based on logic and evidence.

Creationism is a belief

God is the product of belief

Evolution is knowledge based on evidence.

Understanding that when you die you are dead is also the product of knowledge. It is absurd, given the observable evidence, to suggest that such a stand point is a "belief"

To suggest that we secretly believe in God and turn to him in a crisis is just laughable.
