the bible says
Noah was the inventor wine
and
the captain of the good ship known as "the ark"
and
god said that Noah was a righteous man
and yet
the bible says Noah got drunk "on more than one occasion"

I'm a new christian and i've only read the old testament. I've read up to Exodis. Where they talk about the passover.

Also i'm reading the new international version. Is that a good version?

I never hear a Muslim complain that the Christian religion is forced on them, but I hear atheists complain that the Christian religion is?

The placebo effect is a technique that has long been used by doctors and other practitioners of medicine. If a patient believes a treatment is doing them good, then some good can be achieved, often inexplicably, even if the patient is taking no more than sweetened chalk dust. This, to me, is a perfect analogy for religion. Of course that means that Atheists, like me, miss out on whatever benefit this placebo effect can give. The thing is, I’m not that disappointed.

Georgiegirl brought up an interesting point when she said that the OT shouldn't be in the bible. Afterall, the OT is almost completely opposite of the NT.

What do you guys think?

For non believing in God, would you answer God question to you?

here is the Question God is asking you:

[115] "Did you think that We had created you in play (without any purpose), and that you would not be brought back to Us?"

[116] So Exalted is Allâh, the True King: Lâ ilâha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Lord of the Supreme Throne

Quran 23:115-116

By doing so; UNTHINKABLE sins enter in.
When God's standards of rule are ignored; perversion enters in.

I see responses from people who aren't afraid to lay their life down in the name of God.. They seem to be able to feel totally comfortable and at ease when they're staring death and horror square in the eye.

How do you understand such a great and powerful love for someone you don't know? How do you even begin to comprehend His greatness and compassion? How can you just accept dying when you don't know what's on the other side? How can you just give in when you don't know if your soul will survive?

It appears to be to many wishy washy, unbelieving , lukewarm Christians. Many are Christians in name only.

Dont you know in the last day, many will say to Christ "Lord, Lord.." and he shall say "depart from me you that work in iniquity"?
Dont you know to many he will say "I never knew you" and "I dont know where you are from"?
Dont you know the "strait is the gate and narrow is the way which leads to eternal life and FEW there be that find it"???

We do not know the exact day and hour when he will return but the signs of the times reveal he is soon to come..PREPARE

ok, calm down, not you personally but, people in general, can someone prove to another that thay are capable of thought?
we can say we think, but we can't see, touch, smell, hear, or taste or thoughts. we can show them an electrical stimuli in our brain, but that electricity was not our thought.
finally we could say to someone i know i can think because i can hear my thoughts, but hearing is only done with the ears, what we just " heard " existed only in our minds. so how could anyone prove to another they have thoughts?

what is a thought made of?
