I see responses from people who aren't afraid to lay their life down in the name of God.. They seem to be able to feel totally comfortable and at ease when they're staring death and horror square in the eye.
How do you understand such a great and powerful love for someone you don't know? How do you even begin to comprehend His greatness and compassion? How can you just accept dying when you don't know what's on the other side? How can you just give in when you don't know if your soul will survive?

People remain so calm, focused, no tears or sweat or fear.. I don't know how they do it, but I wish I knew how they saved up the courage to be such a firm believer.

The same way you come to love anyone---you spend time with them, talk to them and get to know them personally. You find out what they're about. That's why we have the Bible (often called God's love letter to us) and prayer. It also requires faith--just as with any relationship.

I understand where you are coming from...Have you read any scriptures in the bible, or been to a church yet? The first step is to get a bible, and find a good church that is willing to teach you...I might take a few Sundays to find the right church. I think that you have to look at things in your life and the people's lives around you. Have there been things that have happen that are unexplainable? Have you ever been looking at tv and you see something that is a miracle? That is God. Of course, people are going to die because that is life. We start dying the second we are born. But, while we are here, we give thanks. And there are plenty of things to be thankful for. If you can see, be thankful; if you can hear, be thankful; if you can walk and talk, be thankful. There are many people who cannot do these things because they have another purpose in life, but if you can you just be thankful to God for what you have. Just open your door and look up at the sky. How beautiful and vast is that? That definitely cannot be made by man, right? So that, to me at least, is evidence of a higher power. The whole purpose is to make this world a better place. Just think if everyone followed scripture, what a better place this world would be. No one can tell you how to have a relationship with God. I think the first steps though is to just learn about God and then make your decision.

Have you ever been to church and heard a preacher preach the word of God? That would be a good start. From personal experience I had been to church for years and one day I felt the Holy Spirit. At that point I asked God to come into my heart and forgive me of all my sins. I have been through some bad times in my life and he has never left me or forsaken me. This is one of His promises to His children.
Once you are saved you feel His presence in your life. He is not some invisible friend as some may joke. When you are saved, he is in your heart and soul. He guides you through life and takes away all your fears. Along with salvation comes everlasting life, what a combo!! If you are saved, you know you have an everlasting life ahead of you when you leave this earth. That's reason enough to believe.
I promise you if you give your heart to the Lord, you will see why we are not afraid to die. Jesus puts his arms around you when you are his child, you should not fear anything, for God is with you!!!

Faith and trust are much the same. When you learn to trust a person, you can have trust that they have your best interest at heart..However, people that you can truly trust are few and far between. Perhaps a brother or sister..perhaps a parent or grandparent, and some of us are blessed to have such trust in our spouse or a close friend..But, that trust is cultivated..It is never blind, or immediate...It is cultivated from a long relationship in which the other has proven their loyalty to you.
Faith in Almighty God is much the same. It begins as an acquaintance, growing to a friendship, and hopefully into a trust, as you learn to see His work in your life, and that He makes all things work to benefit you..not that He causes the bad things, but that He can make them work good things in your life. By the time you have cultivated a 'relationship' with God, then it isn't blind trust at all, but as the trust you would have in your closest friend (if you are so blessed as to have such an earthly friend)

God has a way about Him and through experiences in your young life as you get older the questions your asking will be answered. There comes a time when people need extra reassurance as their are so many temptations in this world but in trusting in God you build a shield because you can't know what tommorrow holds you can only believe good things will happen in when you believe so it is...negativity cannot survive in your mind if you don't let it which many people do which is why they are strong and not afraid. Through experienes when you say I could have died...you begin to appreciate God because you know he saved you.

It is as simple as anything, u have to love his people not just whom u know but everybody who is or was living. Amongst them those should be special who were close to him like prophets. If u love those who loved Him and be kind and sympathetic to those whom He made, He will love u andu will realize that ur faith has grown even stronger than those about whom u r writing.
This is not something that I made up, But it has been this way since earth has been there.Be with them who are his and shun those who r against Him. These are one of the basic ways to get started and then u need a guide.
Hope this helps u this is best what I can do on my part.

I understand what you mean and I can feel the passion coming out Thur your question and I feel the same way. It's very hard to love something so much that you can't even see or touch or even hear! I myself don't understand how people can give up all other possibilities and not be sure.
I will never love a God as much as I love my own children or my husband. If people do then I think that's a little wacky

Firstly, I believe we are all totally incaperble of comprehending or understanding or defining God. One can say that in every respect God is infinite. Luckily, one doesn't have to accept dying, it usually happens accepted or otherwise. Souls are eternal, what you lose when you die, is your earthly memories stored in your brain. So when you die, you lose any memory of others or relationships. Without the structure of the brain, no information is accessible. That explains why you don't remember your past life, because your present brain structure cannot access the information from your past life. Being comfortable with facing death requires one to be self aware, or self realised. Knowing one's self, and one's relationship to God is what you are alive for. Enjoy your search for yourself.

I can't see the air, but I feel it in my lungs. I can't prove that I love someone, but they believe, and vice versa. Many things in life take faith.
Those who know God love Him. Christians know Him spiritually rather than physically, and it is a different type of relationship (the best!). The Bible is a good place to start growing closer; it's God's Word. People who know God, know truth. And "the truth will set you free." (John 8:32)

God gives us the desire to search for Him and He is always found when you look for Him. When you decide to just take a leap of faith, things just start changing all of a sudden. And then it gets easier because you start a relationship with this God through faith and prayer and obedience and realize that His ways are good, good for us and He wants the best for us.
