Proverbs chapter 3 verse 5 says:

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. See His will in all you do, and He will direct your paths.
Don't be impressed with your own wisdom.

Mark 10:17-18 says,
"As he was setting out on a journey, a man ran up and knelt before him, and asked him, "Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?" Jesus said to him, "Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone. You know the commandments..."

Matthew 19:16-17 also tells this same story, yet Matthew seems to change it slightly. Instead of Jesus saying, "Why do you call me good?" Matthew says Jesus said, "Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good...."

Do you believe that these were 2 separate incidents?
Do you believe that Matthew changed the wording because he was uncomfortable with Jesus asking "Why do you call me good?"
Or do you have another explanation?

I appreciate whatever insights you have. Thanks.

Ok, honestly, Islam has brought Muslims so much poverty, war, and oppression, its unbelievable. Many will probably argue that this isnt "the true islam", but many of the horrible things that take place in these countries ARE legislated by Islam, the Quran actually states everything the moderate muslims consider "not true islam". Like stoning, killing apostates, wife beating, the draconian rules on the veil, limb amputations, lashings and such...Its all in the Quran. Does anybody else ever think to themselves that Muslims are the biggest victims of Islam?

Please respond with "true" or "false" to each option.

People don't believe in God (Yahweh, the Judeo-Christian deity) because they:

1. are afraid to believe.
2. are angry with God.
3. are too stubborn to submit to God's will.
4. misunderstand scripture.
5. adhere to another faith which, by definition, is false.
6. adhere to another faith which is simply an "alternate route to the same destination".
7. don't understand the concept of God.
8. haven't had, realized they've had or accepted they've had a spiritual connection to and personal experience with God.
9. can't will themselves to believe in something they know to be logically impossible.
10. haven't been exposed to the idea of "a deity".

if God created everything , that means all religions, all living, non living things , the universe , the planets and the stars and the list goes on.....
If this is true, then there is no point in trying to prove otherwise ! there is no wrong or right , no good or evil , but only the close minded believe that this or that is ultimate and only this will count!

soo tired of pople trying to tell me , that I am wrong for my believes and practises , my thought process , my attitude ,my choices of lifestyle !

soo sad for pople who think that they are the only enlightend ones , when the world in my mind is as wonderful as any other !

when will this segregated behavior end ? when will you realize that I am OK for believing something completely different from you and still count???????

nothing is ultimate , mothing can be achieved with ignorance , that will bring trouble - eventualy

do you agree?

God said "An eye for an eye ..... , a life for a life." Which means if someone hurts you, you should hurt them. But then Jesus said that this is wrong and you should "Turn the other cheek" and forgive. Kinda contridicts each other. Which would you believe - Jesus who is just some guy who is supposed to send out God's words and messages, but ends up changing them anyway or God, who is omnipotent, omniscient and pretty much perfect?
Also, some Christians believe that if you are not a Christian then you don't go to heaven because Christianity is the only right religion, but what if you are wrong and another religion, say Wicca, is the right religion and all the people that have dedicated their lives to Christianity end up going to hell? How do you know it is the right religion?

In Matthew 1: verse 1, I read.--"The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham." And after that verse comes a long line of "begats" until we come to verse 16, that reads: "And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

if Joseph was not the natural father of Jesus, but only the husband of Mary, as Matthew 1:16 says, then how come Matthew 1, 1 to 16 is "the ORIGIN of Jesus Christ," ?

OK - after many years of theorising, my views on Jesus, God & the like are these:

* Jesus was a poor man who began to ask people to live good, meaningful lives by helping each other and living in harmony. I believe he was an enigmatic, persuasive and eloquent man who quickly gathered a large following - effectively creating a new ministry that challenged the beliefs of organised religions at that time.
* His sermons made sense to many people and as such, a group of men became devoted followers. These loyal subjects became the "Disciples" and possibly one did betray him, the result of which ended in his crucifixtion.
*The Resurrection is merely the spirit of his teachings - the effects of the deed lives on long after the physical body has departed.
* He isnt the Son of God, there is no God. Jesus was just a good man whose been hijacked by the Church.

So - does anyone have any ideas as to what demoniation I would belong too?
