My personal experience is that this verse is very very true. I have had some really bad things happen through out my life including being a victim of sexual assault but in retrospect I can see how God took these circumstances which were actions of man-not God- and used them for my good. I can also see how God protected me during that time because it could have been a lot worse. But because of very strange circumstances, my assailant fled the scene before carrying out the death threats that he had given me. I can look at my life and I can see the hand of God in every circumstance good and bad. And in the bad times it is God that gets me through and turns it into a time of victory for me. Sounds strange but without my experience of being a victim I would not be able to do prison ministry. It was God teaching me to forgive my assailant that led me to minister to others who have made similar bad choices. The fact is grace is free for all(even the man who hurt me and I can honestly say that I hope that God gets through to him and that he will be in heaven someday). If that is not God working everything together for good than I do not know what is.

Ah...this is one of my favorites and it is so true. It simply means that even when things look like they are bad, God will always make things turn out to our betterment. For example, I did not get a certain job and I was devastated but before long, another job came up that was ideal for me and gave me the forum to tell others about Christ. If I had gotten the first job, I would not have been looking for the second one. Also, I was almost at the point where I was ready to quit my good job because I had a lot of pain and had been diagnosed with a dibilitating and sometimes fatal disease but I met someone at work who gave me a lesson in "God's healing power" and it has worked. I am now free of the pain and am back working at something I truly love. And what is even more important, I have a greater trust in God. I was accustomed to having him answer my "little prayers" but had never even thought that he would answer the "big one". Awesome.

All scripture was given to correct, exort, rebuke, build up,encourage, and without the scriptures we would not know what to do about anything. All scripture was inspired by God and given so that all humans could know what Love is.Without Gods Love there would be no Love. How in this world could we know what purpose we have if everyone walked in hate, would any good come of it?God works in Love,He is Love and when we Love Him it is because He first LOVED us.If you find yourself in trouble or hert by an offence or something to that nature do you feel ok by hateing the perhaps offender or do you feel a need for a healing of such a thing? God shows us thru His Love how to correct such a thing and feel good once again. He did give us choices also and we can choose hate that heals void/nothing. Gods purpose for us is to Love Him back because He is so good and what bad thing has He ever caused you? All God does is Love us and He gives all good things.Whatever bad has happened to anyone God can turn it completely around and make it good, and all He ask from us is to Love Him and how hard is that to Love the one who is perfectly all good?
Iam so greatful to have such great unconditional Love from our God no matter what we have done bad He never stops Loving us.
Gods Mercy and Grace are new every morning, and His unconditional Love has been for us and will forever be.
What could our purpose possibly be but to LOVE?

We are to live by faith and trust in the Lord. He is the one who knows the beginning from the end and has a perfect plan. Often what we hope to see is not what we get but God is aware of the situation and this is where trust comes in. Often down the road we will look back at a particular circumstance and then see why God acted the way He did and yes it was for our benefit.

My experience right now is helping my mom who is 79. She fell ill last fall and my whole world is different now.

I am trying real hard to learn from this experience. Things like patience when she is forgetful, not to resent but to never be weary in well doing because I love her, not get upset when I can't do the things I want to do.

I know that everything is working for the good and God has a purpose for me in what I learn from this experience.

So I pray to Him often to help me, to renew my mind so I can be a blessing to my "very independent" mom because I know this is hard for her too. To learn compassion most importantly to please God because He tells me that I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.

Even my divorce which I did not chose is a tragedy. God has made it good because I have a beautiful son from that marriage. I am able to tell help other women who are suffering in divorce. I am able to see God working in me giving me strength and reminding me that my ex husband is chosing to go a wrong road in adultry and fornication and will deal with the consequences. In this life and the next we will be blessed by doing what God wants us to do. We will be filled with joy and it makes our sufferings small in comparison. So I am strengthened by my scars and God knows I have not let it make me bitter but to help others instead.

Our love is our response to the work of the Holy Spirit in us. There is only one of me. No one else can do what my Lord has planned for me to do. We need to decide if we want to be in the midst of God's unfolded plan. It is not easy to follow Jesus, it is simple though. God is doing everything in order to accomplish His plan. I want to be part of it.

I mess up a lot.. Luckily God can fix it. I think of it the way that if I never made mistakes, I would not have tried to be a player very much. I rely on God's understanding. God does not call qualified, He qualifies the called. : )

Called according to his purpose.

Applying it to the REAL WORLD, which is now, like some people stated doesn't apply, I believe that we can apply it to this very message board.

Responding to the skeptical and the atheists about questions of God. Ministering to people that you know in need. You don't have to go to Africa to minister. Things like that.

Also, if you're truly a believe, you wouldn't be complaining about what God gives you, as long as it is sufficient. Therefore, you AREN'T a true Christian and should reevaluate your values before you see Adolf and Jack the Ripper in hell.

One of my favorite verses....
God works everything so that His children will grow in the image of Christ.
Even if it doesn't seem like it, the bad things that are happening to us will work out for the good in the end.

In short, if you are trusting in God, filled with His Holy Spirit, seeking and following His will in all things, then you are going to be in line with all that He has planned for your life and everything that He might allow to happen to you is for your benifit, even if it seems tough at the time.

It is an incredible place to be at, but our own desires can take us off that path very easily. God wants to do so much with each of our lives but if we don't give our lives to Him, make Him Lord, then there is not much He can do with them.
