1 Corinthians 7:9- "But if they do not have self-control, let them marry; for it is better to marry than to burn with passion."

How do you know when you have arrived at that point? My pastor told me that the time to marry does not depend on if you think you're stable or ready, but only when you can't control yourselves anymore... to minimize sin.

How do I know when we're there or not?

I want to know how to get Jehova's Witness's to stop coming to my house all the time, but in a way that wouldn't be rude. I'm Jewish, I have a mezuzah on my door frame which is overtly jewish, and I believe that I've told them that I am Jewish on multiple occasions. I would think they would get the hint by now, but it hasn't worked.

How do you religious people get into a religion? I want to but right now I think religion is just a way to comfort people who are afraid of death. It's also hard for me to believe because when people say there is a God, they don't know where he/she came from.

I asked a question about Pascal's Wager (ie-fire and brimstone Christianity) and people think I'm attacking the religion. I wasn't. I was trying to get people to think. I was wondering if there were people that followed this silly wager.

That's all. You Christians- good for you. I'm truly glad you find happiness in your faith, and it never bothers me until someone tries to convert me, but I'll never tell you not to believe.

I have problems with certain things like Creationism, but I don't think the religion is bad or even a bad way of seeing God. I know people who have had amazing mystical experiences through Christianity.

So for the record- I, Happykid, am not dissing Christianity in general, although I do ask questions about things that don't make sense. Thank you.

is it possible for EVERYONE to be happy at the same time?

i mean the christians want to pagans to convert.
and the pagans want the christians to leave them alone.
and the atheists want the theists to open their eye's and see the truth (which i totally get ^_^)

and allot of people dont want the atheists to even be in the R&S section (and that is just wrong)

so is it possible for everyone to be happy at the same time???

Religion is like a knitted sweater.... start pulling on the loose wool and eventually the sweater comes appart.... so now we see that women are equal to men so they put women on the pulpit... we see that there's nothing wrong with homosexuality iso they force religions to start accepting it.... what are you afraid of... christianity is not all good..... why not just walk away from it...

if it's broken let it die.... don't be afraid to walk away....

Mathmetics......Hmmm you say.......How does this revert into a symbol of religion. Well first off Christ will measure the width of each person and the height of each person and the width and height of the Church when He comes back. Not only, we multiply each day, on paper {haha} and by numbers of multitude like 12 x 12 = 144 but not just that when it comes to numbers it means how long is it till Christ comes back? Well people been trying to measure the exact date for years and can't find precise date. That is cause in Mathew it says not even the angels nor the son but only the father knows. See we are noit suppose to try and guess that is a sin in itself. And being a sin in itself we should not do it. But when we do it we do have Forgiveness to clean our slate. Christ will be their to reconcile a relationship that is everlasting. To rekindle a a friendship not onbly with Him but with other's to. God Bless everybody.

Would you be able to be a perfect example for everyone and all the time if you believed in Jesus?

Luckily my salvation is not about me, it is about something what Jesus did on the cross. But I would hate someone to miss the reward because of me though. : (

hi i am a 14 yera old boy ( i am going to be 15 in this month ).

All of these questions and answers I have been reading it seems as though if one is an Athiest, they are an assumed Satanist. I had a friend who was an Athiest, but did not worship Satan either. I am a Christian but I can see that one does not automatically = the other. Why do people assume that if you choose not to believe in MY God, that you believe in Satan?

why do I, a fairly well educated person (BS), living a comfortable middle class life, in a safe environment, with no real threats to my person or property, choose my religion? Is it an opiate?

Marx makes an observation that is sensible. Where there is need for an illusion, people choose religion as a kind of pain killer, like opium.

What other reasons? Don't give me the 'brainwashing' or 'raised by your parents' argument, unless you have limited abilities to reason.
