I asked a question about Pascal's Wager (ie-fire and brimstone Christianity) and people think I'm attacking the religion. I wasn't. I was trying to get people to think. I was wondering if there were people that followed this silly wager.
That's all. You Christians- good for you. I'm truly glad you find happiness in your faith, and it never bothers me until someone tries to convert me, but I'll never tell you not to believe.
I have problems with certain things like Creationism, but I don't think the religion is bad or even a bad way of seeing God. I know people who have had amazing mystical experiences through Christianity.
So for the record- I, Happykid, am not dissing Christianity in general, although I do ask questions about things that don't make sense. Thank you.

See I like people like you. Even though we may not have the same beliefs we can still talk about things without getting offended.
Not saying that I don't like closed minded people, they're just harder to talk to is all.

people get offended real easy because its in our human nature... and its not always a good thing. because the first thing we resort to is revenge. =[ i am also Christian and dont believe u were attacking the religion...but merely just asking a question. and i am one of those people who have had mystical experiences through Christianity...and im glad u dont think Creationism is a bad way of seeing God. finally some atheist doesnt just shut me off...they arent close minded. i dont mean ANY offense to ur religion...but many atheists...or people who dont believ in God....or do but not ours...when i tlk to them...they interrupt me...like on IM...and they start being mean to me...and they wont ever let me finish what i have to say. and u are not one them. thats what i wanted to say. thanks. =]

Your second paragraph shows your heart.
I think we all have had issues resolving science. To me it does not negate Christianity, again, God's way, God's time.
I haven't had what you may refer to a "mystical experiences", but I have had powerful experiences that for me were a result of God's love and help when it was so needed.
This help was so powerful I must believe!
I love your user name!

In reference to followers of "fire and brimstone Christianity"; You tried to make them think, that was your mistake. They don't want to think because they've been taught not to. They are simply supposed to accept what the preacher says and adhere to there laws of the bible...anything beyond that is over their heads.

Why argue about God, either he is or he isn't, either he is a he or he is a she, either he/she loves us or he/she don't that isn't going to change the truth so until you can prove it others have a right not to believe it just as some have a right to believe, no one has a right to impose their beliefs on anybody else not ever.

There are different views of creationism. Some creationists believe in an old earth. Consider the website of an astrophysicist who believes in creation:

I will tell you the answer is yes. Many, many follow this stupid wager. They lock themselves so tightly in their cocoon of ignorance afraid their fantasy Boogie Man Satan will jump out and take a bite of their butt they cant reason. Hanging on to that little fantasy La La land of eternity is all they have left.
