...it's okay to believe without proof that a complex one-celled organism that gave birth to all life that ever existed on earth formed from a puddle of goo billions of years ago?

Goo to you via the zoo!

Here is why:

But who will listen when I warn them? Their ears are closed and they refuse to hear. The word of God has angered them; they don't want it at all. Jeremiah 6:10

Ironically I think many don't because of the Bible and the history of religions. The Bible is not simple to understand and religions have done much that is regrettable.

What if the history of religion showed loving people, that were happier and more blessed than others? What if God fearing countries were better than the others? What if all religions got along and agreed? What if miracles were an every day occurrence?

That is another subject, so I won't go into it, but I still believe in God.

We don't believe that. It's NOT ok to believe without proof that life came from a complex one-celled organism. We feel that the evidence shows that is the most likely reason.

You posit the false proposition that atheists believe it to be *wrong* to believe in [a] God. You should restate your question by first eliminating your assumptions.

To your question, though, you also suggest that [all] atheists believe [all] life derived from a single-cell organism.

You have illogically linked atheism/theism with evolution of life. These are not intertwined concepts.

But nice try.

It's not wrong for an atheist to believe that. There are diffrent types of atheists. Some are hardcore believers of science and against religion, some are just spiritual without believing that a divine being created us and a few believe in a god but those are usually agnostic.

Um. I'm an atheist and I don't think it's wrong to believe in a deity... I just don't, myself. It hasn't anything to do with proof. It's just that I found something more profound than deities.

I guess the answers to my previous questions to you is, no, you do not ask questions/challenge beliefs politely or respectfully, and yes, you come off as arrogant and self-righteous.

I think it is fine to believe in god without proof. Go for it. Just don't discriminate against groups of people based on some 2000-year old holy writings, meddle with affairs of state or school systems, or kill people because of your beliefs.
