For Me...heaven would never be heaven if my kids weren't there. Or my spouse. My parents. My brothers. And I knew they were in eternal suffering instead.

And if you say you are conditioned to forget them, so it wouldn't bother you, then it REALLY wouldn't be heaven if brainwashing occurs to make you forget those people you truly love. that's fraud, false. shame on god for making people forget their loved ones.

Could it ever be heaven for you if you knew that loved ones were in hell suffering for an eternity?

1 COR 14:34-35 says so. Paul said so.

1COR 14:34-35 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

So now, let's have the excuses. Tell us why this only applied to the corinthians and only those corinthians of that era; but the anti-gay stuff in the NT doesn't just apply to the Romans, but it applies to everyone THEN AND NOW...

Come on, folks...let the hypocrisy and double-speak flow!!

Sorry if that is too sectarian. But whose got it most right? Has the One Holy and Apostolic Roman Catholic Church been right all along or did John Calvin do all of us Christians a great service in making the faith sane?

Disclaimer: This question is meant to seek truth, not to incite bashing between non-LDS and LDS.

I ask a lot of questions about obscure, little-known LDS principles and doctrines that were taught early in the Church, along with stories and recorded happenings involving early leaders.

All of my questions are based on information from sources published by the LDS Church (sometimes quoted on other websites, both pro-mormon and anti-mormon). However, I am often surprised to see that few people in the LDS Church have ever heard of these points, even though background and information is plentiful in these LDS publications.

Are the History of the Church and Journal of Discourses not seen as being as important as they were in the early days? If not, why not?

Lastly, if you have read these books, how do you feel when you come across information that goes against the doctrines and principles that are currently taught by the LDS Church?

According to Christianity the biblical Israelites gave sacrifices to atone for their sins. Hence the idea that Jesus was needed as a sacrifice for all sins.

I have one question though.

The Solomon’s temple in Jerusalem was built 1006 BCE and destroyed 586 BCE

The second temple was built in 536 BCE.

That leaves about 50 some say 70 years between the destruction of the first and construction of the second temple.

If an Israelite lived during this time period and had no chance in his life to give a sacrifice how was he able to atone for his sins?

If the murderer has fired his/her gun, then free will has already been exercised and the murderer has already condemned himself/herself. The sin has already been committed!

So why does God still let the victim die?

P.S. If you respond "free will" you will have proven you do not understand the question.

whether there is a god or not, it's all the same? if there is not a god and you ask a prayer, it obviously won't be answered. if there is a god and you ask a prayer, it won't be answered or it will be imperfectly answered. so what's the point?

good day.

I don't get it... all human beings are supposed to accept god's will but next think you know a devout christian hillbilly couble take fertility treatments, end up with a litter and say "praise god." Oh the twisted logic.

when the only answer an atheist comes up with is "that's because God doesn't exist." Since your science is flawed, could you at least put some effort in making your conclusions seem like your smart?

2007-03-29 10:59:09 · 14 answers · asked by David 3

Many christians are still in denial about all the widespread child-rape and child-molestations within their own christian cult.

Like catholic priests, etc, many christian cult leaders were also guilty of raping and abusing children.

Did people get as mad at them, or were they more interested in living in denial, not wanting the cult name of christianity smeared? And therefore, never having to take any responsibility or demand any accountability?

Or was it because there is less of a direct hierarchy in christian cult groups (in some cases, none at all) -- and therefore, not really "one" cult hierarchy to point the finger at?

Christians, catholics, and non-believers, all feel free to chime in with your insights.
