I have been on here for a long time now, and I see all sorts of different labels thrown about. So I will ask you more experienced regulars what you would say I am.

I am human. (Despite my avatar)
I am a writer. I write primarily famtasy, with a bit of romance and horror thrown in.
I am a woman, studying in a Catholic college to be a Spanish teacher.
I believe in the power of the Four Elements, and the joining power of Spirit.
I believe that almost all things have a soul.
I believe in the Big Bang, and evolution. I believe the Elemental Spirits developed as the world did, and they are probably different on other planets.
I believe it is mathematically impossible that we are the only planet with life on it.
I believe animals are people too.
I grew up a poor white girl in the Twin Cities, Minnesota.
I am a bookworm.
Most importantly, I believe Love is All That Matters.

If I think of anything else, I will add that too. Thanks for your imput.

Most people pray for help when they know they're about to be killed, right?

So did God ignore the people who were murdered today because he doesn't love them?

I don't understand how he died for them. And who's sin are we talking about? I could only imagine it was the sin of those alive at the time, because I wasn't born yet, therefore I had not sinned. But I still don't understand what it means to die for our sins. Also, wasn't he forced onto that cross? I don't think he came up with the idea to take that walk, to have people beat him and then nail himself to that cross. So he didn't really die for anyone or anything, right? And if he were aiming to "die for us" wouldn't it be wonderful that he died? Instead it is a negative thing.

Let's pretend for a moment that a missionary or preacher is a door to door salesman. In this scenario the salesmen pitches his product. It's a liquid detergent that not only washes your clothes, but irons them, folds them, and hangs them in your closet. It only costs you $5 a month to have this miracle washing fluid.

You ask to see a demonstration of this product since it sounds too good to be true. Here's the catch, you have to buy it before you can experience it's power. Just take it on faith the salesman says. It's been handed down to me, i've seen it's greatness, it's a fantastic time saver, believe me and just buy it. If you're right, you will save time and effort for the rest of your life, if you're wrong, you must toil in laundry hell forever ironing, folding and hanging garments.

Would you buy this product?

The Baptists, Presbyterians, Cathloics, Methodists, etc... all believe in the Bible, but will all interpret the exact same scripture differently..hence the reason we have different religions....so is the Bible still infallible...if so, which religion is right and which religion is wrong?

Rainbows prove that leprechauncs exist. Why do you deny such clear proof?!?!? And then the fact that there's never any gold at the end proves that they take it away before you can find it!

Accept it now or have terrible luck 4-EVAR!

If I am right, and there really are gods, they will respect me for not beliveing in the wrong one and sticking to my guns as an atheist asking for the proof,

if im wrong and i pick the wrong god just cause some one gave me paschal's wager, then god will punish me,

if your wrong too you get punished,

what have you got to lose
become an atheist

I admit it, I sent one about 3 months ago. I receive one almost daily. Well, usually they aren't hate mail but I have received my share.

How does it make you feel to send one and how do you feel when you receive one?

This is a question for everyone. I'm asking it of this section simply because even though this tangent I'm on is fairly philosophical, I'd like to hear from all belief systems on this.
Now, for the details. The reason I'm asking this question is because I hear many people saying that the government can't "legislate morality." So whose morality do we use? Who's to say what's right or wrong? Do we use circular reasoning to decide, if it's apart from God's law? What I mean by circular reasoning is, what is moral is decided based upon society, which then affects what the government rules; at the same time, the laws which we're governed by are dictated to us by those who are in charge. But what happens if NOTHING is considered wrong by society? Can government still step in and legislate? (These questions are rhetorical.)

And before anyone can say it, I'm not implying that a person cannot be non-religious and still be "moral." I'm just curious how we decide what's right and wrong.

well nothing bad would happen regardless, you'd just look silly if it was true and you all are up hooting and hoolering "oh but look at this book some dude in 500BC wrote on the goat skin he says he talked to gawd and golly gee he says he made the man and the woman out of their ribs and gimme some barbeque sause"
