I don't understand how he died for them. And who's sin are we talking about? I could only imagine it was the sin of those alive at the time, because I wasn't born yet, therefore I had not sinned. But I still don't understand what it means to die for our sins. Also, wasn't he forced onto that cross? I don't think he came up with the idea to take that walk, to have people beat him and then nail himself to that cross. So he didn't really die for anyone or anything, right? And if he were aiming to "die for us" wouldn't it be wonderful that he died? Instead it is a negative thing.

If this is an honest question, then I honestly hope you get what you are looking for.

We celebrate Good Friday and Easter because we believe it IS a wonderful thing that He died for us. And we believe He rose again. And actually He did come up with the idea to take that walk; John ch. 1 says that (as part of the Godhead) He was there in the very beginning and everything was created through Him. And the book of Revelation calls Him "The Lamb who was slain from the beginning of the world." In other words, He created us knowing we would fall and He already had a plan to save us. When His disciples wanted him to cut and run, He told them that if He wanted to he could call ten thousand angels to rescue Him, but that this was what He was born to do.

And it was for all sin, for all time, that He died. The Bible says that "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." If He could die for those who were still in sin, he could die for those not even born, and for those born a thousand years before. He died "for the sins of the world."

Jesus died for everything that we have done wrong. Jesus is talking about our sins and he means this for everyone. When you were born you won't remember but you probably sinned did something unright. Jesus died for are problems see the ten commandments in Exodus chapter 20 on ideas of sins especially when you break a commandment. Jesus died on the cross because he loved us more then anything even when we have done wrong. Even though it was sad that he died but in the same way it was a good thing so people can follow God and go to heaven instead of automatically going to hell when people believed in God and followed his bible for no reason at all. So that is why Jesus died for our sins.

Early in the Bible, there was the fall of man. Humans became sinners by first eating from the forbidden tree. Now, all humans are sinners. Back before Jesus died, God commanded people to sacrifice perfect, spotless sheep in order for their sins to be forgiven. So they did it. Later on, it wasn't enough. Too many people were going to hell. God had so much mercy on the people of the world that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to be the perfect "sheep" sacrifice. Since Jesus was perfect, He was the only one acceptable enough to die so that our sins could be forgiven.

Yes, everything was planned out, and Jesus knew all along that He had to die so that everyone could be saved. Death is a negative thing, that is true. But Jesus overcame death by rising again on the third day after His death, showing that He had power over death itself.

Christ died by choice, but yet He could have refused. He did not have to let them. See He already knew this way before He was born. How you say? Well it is Simple. Christ is God, as God is Christ. The Spirit that is with us everyday! The Holy Spirit that we all ask into our heart everyday, Christ sacrificed for our sins so that we would not have to bear so many burdens. Yet does not mean we do not have sins. For the sins He took upon himself. Jesus died upon the cross to assemble the Covenant. John 3:16- For God So loved the World that He gave His onlt Begotten Son {himself} And said Whoeverth Believth in > Him < Sha'll not perish, but have Eternal life. {God Bless my friend}

All of us are children of Adam and Eve. Like produces like. When they were perfect, they had no children. Once they disobeyed God, they were imperfect and destined to be sinful and die. As their imperfect children, we inherit their destiny. SO--Jesus who was a perfect spirit person and Jehovah God decided that Jesus would become a human person separate from the line of Adam and Eve and then, he would sacrifice that perfect human life in behalf of anyone who was willing to accept him as their parental replacement. It is a sad thing in that it ever had to happen--that Adam chose Eve over God and disobeyed. BUT, it is a wonderful thing in that God made this provision for us--to buy us back from enslavement to sin and death and that Jesus was willing to suffer and die even though he had no sin of his own to pay for. We still have the genetic flaw of sin because the value of Jesus' sacrifice will not fully be applied to us until after Armegeddon and the judgement, but we already have that hope and promise that it can and will be if we live according to God's will and accept it. God loved the world so much....don't ever doubt it!!

I'll try to answer your question. People are going to laugh and ridicule but I don't care. The Lord Jesus is my salvation, so I will give this a try to make it easy to understand. God created the world and ideally it was to be without sin, however, Satan has an ego problem. He tempted Adam and Eve and thus the first sin was created. Because they ate the fruit they then became aware of their nudity and hid. God had to slaughter an innocent lamb to provide clothing for the sinners. The first death (the lamb) due to sin. People are not capable of living by the Law (Old Testament) so we needed a saviour. A sinless being (God taking on the flesh and became Jesus) to take all our sins, past present and future and die for them. The ULTIMATE sacrifice. He knew what he was doing, and in the Garden of Gethsemene he asked God basically "let this cup pass from me, but not thy will yours father". Meaning, if there was any other way, let it be so. Satan knew he would be defeated by Jesus, by being the ultimate sacrifice. We need now just to put our faith in him. That is living by faith and not the law. (New Testament). John 3:16 says that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that he who believes in him shall have everlasting life.
I hope I made this somewhat easy to believe and understand. I for one can tell you that since I have accepted Jesus into my heart, my life has changed for so much the better. I hope you can find that place in your heart to let him in because he is waitng for you to just call on him.

Okay, when Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate the apple, their eyes were open and they were ashamed, and so sin was created. Since we are all descendants of them, we are born of original sin. Now, he always knew he was going to die for our sins, and he makes several references to it in the bible. Also, he is dying for the sins of all mankind, past, present and future. If you know Jesus, you know that He is God. God is all knowing. He is the Alpha and the Omega. It's kind of like when the Jews would take an unblemished lamb (Jesus was without sin) and would treat it like a scapegoat(ie: yell at it, spit at it, etc) (Jesus' crucifixion), that lamb would take on their sins for that year. The lamb would be sacrificed and their sins would be forgiven.

Like I said, Jesus knew what was coming. Scriptures fortold it and He foretold it. When Jesus was crucified, it was a just punishment for our sins. He was taking what punishment should have been for all mankind so that when we die and are judged, we won't have to go through what he went through. That is how much God loved all of us.

Check out the gospel of John and God bless.

Quite a lot of questions... good ones, too.
Jesus died for all of our sins. He died for sins from before his time, and he died for sins that haven't happened yet.

God is fully God. He is absolutely divine.
Man is fully human. We are absolutely imperfect. We are good, but we are not capable of divinity.
Thus, we cannot atone for our sins alone. We cannot suffer enough to bridge the gap and be forgiven for our sins.

Jesus is fully human - and fully God. He is the one that can suffer and die for our sins. He is the one that can atone for what we have done... and he is the one that did that for us.

He died and took our sins to hell so that we don't have to.
He served our time and took the punishment for us.
Now, God is able to forgive all our sins, because the sentence has already been carried out by Jesus.

Jesus' death isn't negative. In fact - Good Friday is the most spiritual of all days (atleast, it is to me). We celebrate Jesus' ressurection on Easter Sunday, but the spirit of Christianity is in Good Friday.

Jesus died to open the way of heaven for us. When our first parents sinned against the goodness of God, all of us were prevented from going to heaven. The relationship between God and men was broken. We needed someone to repair the insult done to God. We needed someone who was sinless to become a sacrificial Lamb of God to atone for the sins of men. God had to come to atone for the sins of men, that destroyed our relationship with God. So God sent His Son to die freely for our sins so that we could go to heaven. Otherwise, no one can go to heaven. This is why we call Jesus the Savior and the Messiah. Jesus died to show us an example of love. He wasn't forced to do it. He went there willingly. He died for you and me and for everyone else, even those who do not love Him yet. His death is our liberation from sin. This is why we are not afraid to die. This is why we call His death the triumph of the Cross. It is a positive thing. Without His death, no one can enter heaven yet. We will all merit hell or the punishment for our sins.

I'm confused - what bible were you referring to?
The Bible says that all have sinned - since God is all-knowing, He knows before it happens. This is difficult to imagine because we don't understand that time came into existence only when His creation did. God isn't bound by time; time is irrelevant to Him. Einstein demonstrated that time is an illusion, and how we see it depends on the observer.

Dying for our sins means just that: God cannot co-exist with evil; all who sin are evil in that they have obeyed the evil one, Satan. God doesn't want us to pay for our sins, so He sent someone to pay for us.

He sent Jesus, but the Bible says that He could have called down a legion of angels to rescue Him IF HE WANTED TO; therefore He died BY CHOICE.

Which Bible is it that tells you that His dying for us it isn't wonderful - not the one that I read.
