Peter, who became the leader of the apostles after Jesus did not want to be crucified the same way. He proposed to be crucified upside down and so it was done. Philip was crucified on a lying cross in Hierapolis in Phrygia, whoever John was the only of the apostles who did not became a martyr. Mathias replace the traitor Judas Iscariot. S:t Andrew, who was the apostle of John the Baptist and one of the first of apostles. He was crucified in Patras, Achaea on X-shape cross , crux decusata, latter called S:t Andrew cross.
I hope this information helped.

The apostle Peter was supposed to be crucified upside down by the Romans.
Which brings up an interesting question, If Peter was the first Pope of the Holy Roman Church, why did the Romans nix him?

Peter was crucified upside down, at his own request. He did not feel worthy to die in a manner similiar to his Lord.
Andrew was also crucified, but on a cross shaped like an X. It is called St. Andrew's cross to this day. It took him 3 days to die, and the outcry from the citizens in that city was so great, the local judge issued a stay-of-execution order in an attempt to save his life. The soldiers arrived to take him down, but were too late.

This is not in the Bible but historians have said that Peter was also crucified. Although Peter was crucified upside down so he wouldn't die in the same manner of Jesus.

Peter "upside down" by request, as he didn't think he was worthy enough to be crucified the exact same way as Jesus.
