Most of evolution theories are just that, theories. Science is repeated observations based on theories. If the results are repeatable then it becomes accepted as fact. Most of Darwin's theories have not been shown to be fact ie. man from primates. There is ample evidence of adaptation and survival of fittest. We see that in viruses in that they mutate (adapt through change ) to survive. As far as I have seen there is no solid evidence that we evolved from other species or that the diversity of cells evolved from a single cell. At best the position is postulated in faith of an unproven science making it no more assured than the creationist theories. Some things are just not provable and we trust whom we wish to place our trust in. It is jsut an argument in my view that will never go anywhere and just divides us further. silly huh?

Nobody says that they have absolute proof. That's not what's been said. There is astronomical evidence supporting evolution. We could not possibly provide you with all of it on a forum like Yahoo Answers. If you want to learn about it, go to a legitimate science website. (Not a creationist website. That is not legitimate science.) Go to a library. There's a lot of information out there. You can do the research yourself. It is not reasonable to demand that we provide you with proof in a forum like this and then insinuate that not doing so proves the entire theory of evolution wrong.

As if you would read it.
That is precisely the problem... the reason the ignorance continues.
But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Add a comment saying you'll take some time to educate yourself (meaning not five minutes, but at least a couple hours) and I'll give you some great links to reputable, science-based, truth-seeking websites that explain how evolution works. Not guesses or speculation, but empirical evidence. The basic ideas are relatively simple, but there are many details, and if truth is what you seek, time has to be spent.

The proof is in the millions and millions of fossils that have been discovered in the past couple of centuries. It would take a class in historical geology to make you understand how these are not just remnants of a great flood and that they show a progression of life on the planet over millions and millions of years.
So do that. Find your local university. Sign up for geology. You will have to take that before you can take historical geology though. Pay attention in class and make an A.
To the person who said that theory means unproven. You would get an F in science. Take some science classes and pay attention when they talk about scientific method and what a theory is. It does not mean guess and it does not mean unproven.

In Science their is no "proof" , there is evidence supporting or not supporting a theory or idea. At least that is what they tell me in my Psychology classes. So there is no "proof" of evolution, because science is always evolving as new evidence is brought to the table. However, I think that evolution is a theory with over 150 years of evidence behind it.

There is more proof that evolution is true than the Bible. Evolution is basically a spiecies adapting to the environment they are in. It happens everyday. You can see it everyday.
Where is the proof that anything, I mean ANYTHING, in the Bible is true? There is none, not one ounce of evidence.
But you can look at scientific studies and DNA sequences, that show more proof of evolution.

When it comes to theories, there is no proof, just evidence that supports the theory. For example there is no actual proof of gravity, but there is lots and lots of evidence for it.
To "prove" evolution, one would have to whiteness a good amount of the species actually changing over time. In other words, you would have to live for thousands, if not millions of years.
Evolution also has lots and lots of evidence.

The problem is and has been, that Christians use the same sources over and over. It's like the circular reasoning found in Apologetics. We believe that the Bible is true, because the Bible says so.
Here's a few "primer" websites to introdiuce you to some fundamentals and the quackery in Creationism, etc.
If you want to find truth, you will.
If not, then you'll remain a Christian

Get an education first... your mind is too simple at this time to understand. Evolution is a fact and it continues to occur. There is not one credible scientist that refutes evolution!
