Although I am a Christian, I'm sure I could speak in this case for the Jews, the Muslims or any other religious group in asking why people seem to generalize us by what a few misguided souls did. Catholics are berated because of what some priests did, Muslims are berated because of what a few terrorists did and other Christians are berated because of what a few so called Christian leaders have said or done. Fred Phelps for example. Please do not assume that just because someone calls themselves a Christian, a Muslim, a Jew or whatever that they speak for all believers. I can assure you, they do not. I'm sure atheists could make this same request....not all non believers should be considered horrible people.

"Logicade" has shown promising results in early test cases for the treatment of excessive religion and various other Logic Deficiency Disorders. This new drug has the potential to indirectly free up unnecessary restrictions on stem cell research and genetic engineering, create a more peaceful and productive global society and by removing the confusion that religion causes in science classes around the world can make a generation of children much more likely to contribute to the progression of our species.

K I'm an atheist and right now I am talking to 4 other atheists in a chat on yahoo. We're talking about Jesus and about how his message was one of peace and forgiveness.

Just wondering, do other atheists feel this way, that the true message of the man jesus was love and forgiveness, and some religious people tainted it?

Second question, profound effect on the world, cause I'm here with 4 of the smartest atheists from this category talking about the good things from Jesus of Nazareth.

humans were atheistic like any other animal on this Earth? Oh yeah, intelligent design contradicts it. Oh well!
This question was inspired by another question "Why did God create atheist"?

Romans 1:24-28
Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator- who is forever praised. Amen.
Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. Furthermore since they did not think it worth while to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not be done.
Do you believe in ETERNITY? Will God over look your sin and send a theif to hell?? What if... your wrong,,, and the BIBLE is right?? JUST, WHAT IF????

Do you think God would have wanted hundreds and thousands of trees to be cut down and wild life to die, in order to make the paper that is used to print the bible on?

...that "call" themselves Christians and True Christians?
I suppose it's because they don't know the Book. They don't know the Rule, the Standard of our faith......and so delusions are ever confusing comfouding their minds.
Of course, to point out evil people who "call" themselves Christians and consider them to be such, does justify their pathetic states. NOT.

Hey, atheist here...

So apparently we can CHOOSE whether to follow this God or not, right?

Did it ever occur to you Christians that atheism is NOT A CHOICE?

So, what you say is nonsense really.

I was born atheist-agnostic, as is everyone else, and simply stayed atheist. No decision for it ever came up.

And most Christians didn't choose either - their parents chose FOR them and they followed.

If you choose not to believe in God, that is your choice. Do you have to be so cruel and judgemental about it?

In America we are told that we should apologize for slavery, even though not one American who owned slaves is alive today. So that made me think, should Christians have to apologize for the acts of their own,in other words should Christians have to apologize for the Holocaust since Adolph was one of them??

When God clearly says:

1 Thessalonians 4:3
"For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication."

1 Corinthians 10:8
"Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand."

1 Corinthians 7:2
"Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband."

1 Corinthians 6:18
"Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body."

In regards to modern religious practices.

I personally don't see a difference because all these things come from a higher power whether it be God, Goddess, or the Universe
