...that "call" themselves Christians and True Christians?
I suppose it's because they don't know the Book. They don't know the Rule, the Standard of our faith......and so delusions are ever confusing comfouding their minds.
Of course, to point out evil people who "call" themselves Christians and consider them to be such, does justify their pathetic states. NOT.

"All it takes to be a Christian is a belief that Christ died for everyones sins" the is the MOST popular delusion of MANY MANY MANY people who "call" themselves Christians.

Dierdre,
Unfortunate for you, your state of delusion does not alow you to really be able toi THINK this out. Let me try this. To know what it takes to be a Christian, you have to go to the Book; not your OWN understanding.

Jenny,
Unfortunately, you got THIS teribly STRONG DELUSION:
"one of the number one rules for being a good Christian, or even just a good human being, is to NOT be judgemental!!! "

Quite the contrary! Infact, Christians are COMMANDED TO JUDGE.
Do your OWN study on this from the Book. Or email me.

Atheism is a lie in general, most hate religion and how can you hate that in witch you don't believe in?
They know the difference they just are angry at God and this is their way of getting him back.

Christians are always accusing other Christians of not being Christian or not being "Christian enough" for their liking.

All it takes to be a Christian is a belief that Christ died for everyones sins. And of course, that will even be debated.

It's TOO BAD that Christians can't agree on anything.

2007-03-28 23:10:18 · answer #2 · answered by Joa5 5 · 1 0

Yeah, yeah, yeah ... it's like Christians and real Christians .... alcoholics and real alcoholics .... spiritual people and real spiritual people. On and on and on.

Atheists aren't atheists because they haven't seen real Christians ... they are such because they have seen no evidence of a God, and because they see nothing in nature that necessitates a God.

Christians decry evolution as a farce, but all their arguments against evolution are rhetoric and not science. The science behind evolutionary theory has never been discredited by any sound science. Arguments such as those of complex perfect organs were first addressed by Darwin himself in "On the Origin of the Species".

The point is that puffing yourself up as a "True Christian" has no effect on atheism. Simply calling yourself a "True Christian" is likely to gain you no or little time in conversation with a "true atheist". In fact, the mere question you asked will probably have you branded as one of those Christians who is out to save the world; a zealot.

You might say now that you are striving to be a real Christian, but don't consider yourself there yet, but this will be viewed after this question as false or theatrical humility.

I know "real Christians", and I know half-hearted ones. The real ones don't have to convince me, and the half-hearted ones couldn't.

You may not believe it from a non-Christian, but I can recognize true faith in a person. It is not limited to Christians alone.

So, as a person of faith, albeit different than yours, I think that your question seems a bit smug. It is an example of what I find distasteful in Christianity. It tells of a person who thinks that because they believe themselves to be right, that those who don't believe as they do must be wrong. It is a smugness I've not seen in "True" Christians.

You may say that as a non-Christian, I can't recognize the truth when I see it, but using your own Bible as an example, I seem to recall Christ as being a person who pointed out what true faith is and is not.

That said, do you visit people in prisons? Do you minister to the sick and dying? Do you help the widows in your neighborhood. Do you, as Christ admonished, "feed my sheep"?

I think that if Christ told of who the faithful were, that his example ought prevail.

In any case, True vs false is merely academic. The existence of true faith does not diminish the argument that we don't need a god to explain our existence.

I would not be so presumptuous as to tell another person that they are not what they say they are. If someone says that they are a Christian, I take them at their word.

I do know "the Book." I know the standards that your god has set for you, and I know that the majority of Christians I know do NOT follow those standards. I know that your Christ was rarely vengeful, and that he was a peaceful example for you. I know that often Christians find it easier to threaten others than to talk with them in love. However, it is not my responsibility to weed out the "bad" from the "good" in YOUR faith. That is your responsibility.

I think that instead of being angry at atheists, the more neighbourly, Christian thing to do would be to direct the energy that this anger takes into something useful, and hope that atheists find faith (note to atheists....please don't think I am being condescending to you, this is NOT my intention...but, because I believe in God and believe that He is really great, of course I want/wish for everyone to have Him in their lives).
We need to remember that one of the number one rules for being a good Christian, or even just a good human being, is to NOT be judgemental!!!

There is no difference to me. Christians are Christians if they believe in the Christian's version of God.

*Edit*

It's not delusion. By definition, a Christian is a Christian if (s)he believe in Christianity's version of God (i.e., omnipotent, benevolent, and omniscient).

Arguing against this is delusion.

we are delusional? Hae you looked in the mirror lately, or maybe the book you cal the bible. I think you should actualy look up the word delusion and then re-think your stance on this matter. There is no difference between you, you believe the same things you were just taught them in different ways. You preach the same delusional crap but you word it differently and twist it so it works better for you. There is only one difference between the "true christians" and "christians"... money.

I can. Actually, my main complaint lies with the "Christians" that just call themselves that without having any real faith in it. I can find little fault in people that truly practice the peace and love of Christianity.

Have you ever heard about not giving credence to an argument by just ignoring it? It works pretty good you see, if you let someone "get your goat" so to speak then they win.

If you go on and are positive in your belief and never take their bait you win.

funny...I always thought that all you had to do to be Christian was ask God for forgiveness for your sins, when did YOU get to make the rules?????

People who say they are Christian, ARE Christians. If you have a problem with it, then make the qualifications for your club more difficult.
UPDATE: So you call me ignorant, and then agree with my statement???? Funny, just plain funny.
