So Jesus comes to earth during a time of primitive man, performs some ho-hum miracles, and hardly leaves any evidence that he was here except documented in a contradictory heavy book that even its believers can't agree on.

I think an all-knowing god would have foreseen the problems of this lack of evidence the problems it would create in the future. If anything, Jesus maybe should have come down in today's time. When history can be recorded. When the world is united in communication through television and the internet. He could unite the world into one religion, do away with war, save a multitude of non-believers.

That god sure is a smart dude.

It is being offered freely, openly. Take what you need to find your way to Christ. I believe this to be True. It only becomes a sin, if you pervert and abuse what you've taken. Don't you agree?

Okay ladies, give me your HONEST heartfelt opinion on this. You start dating a guy, he is wonderful, sensitive, good listener, solid career, spiritual etc. Then he drops the BOMB on you that he "used" to be gay but "changed" through the ex-gay movement.

Despite giving him points for his honesty (which some are not), would you STILL date/marry a guy who professes to be ex-gay? Would you always be kinda worried if when he is making love to you he is thinking of and is 100% attracted to your female body and not thinking of a man?

I find that when you ask people who actually believe that gay people can change their sexual orienation, whether they themselves would marry a "former" gay person, they get a little squeamish and backtrack especially considering what happened to pastor Taggert's wife, the governer of New Jersey's wife and thousands of women who discovered the hard way, sexual orienation cannot be erased just like that. What do you think?

The roman Savior God Mithras.

I already know that the romans took Mithras from persia (the Zoroasterian god Mithra)
But the romonized version of Mithras, would he be the son of Ahura mazda still, or the Son of Jupiter?

Thanks very much!

So i'm going through a religious crisis sort of for a few weeks now.

I've tried christianity, that didn't work for many reasons, i had been a christian since i was 9 till 14 and i realised it wasn't the way for me.

I've tried wicca, I was comfortable with it more then christianity it complimented the buddhist philosophy very well and i become more open minded and tolerant. The only thing that kind of disapointed me was the vast amount of sites and people who were just in it for the "magic and mystery" appeal.

I don't know, i want to go back to paganism. I just don't want to be wicca. Anyone here who struggles with finding your niche in the belief systems? I want faith, i want structure and paganism fits my beliefs but where should i start looking for more information on it that has everything well organised?

Don't say google because i've tried and came up with tons of "cast spells 4 free" crap.

(Set aside the whole dying on the cross thing... which isn't cross-documented anyways)
If jesus had the power of god (or was god) then weren't his miracles a little lame?
Healing a few blind people... turning water into a fruity beverage... walking on water.

Why not heal all the blind in the world.
Or make the world's deserts into lush forrests and solve world hunger.
Or cause all the handicapped or sick to be healed
Or any number of miraculous deeds that history would be remembered; by not just one book full of contradictions that even its followers can't agree upon.
I mean. . . he was supposed to be god and we can't even verify his existence.
Leave a mark dude!
Your miracles are less spectacular than a magician hired for a kid's birthday party.

i recently heard that divorce itself is not a sin, but the remarriage after that divorce that is the sin. during the same conversation it was mentioned that there are some sins that are not forgivable. i can't remember the exact term used, but i belive it started with an "s". i know that the bible says that God can forgive anything, but is the remarriage after divorce not forgivable because if you contine to be married, you continue to commit the sin?

Ok, so if you believe in god you more than likley believe every body was created to be unique. Well if were all so unique why do we have a "set of rules" (i use that in the best way i can term it) to follow that dictate to us how to be a good person.

To me, people should live thier life to thier own set of rights and wrongs rather then trying to conform to thier religions idea of how to live. I mean, isn't the whole idea that we bring to the table who we our in life and be judged by that?

Life should be about exploration and gaining a sense of identity and ideals rather then just having a clear cut set of instuctions that apply to all situations in life.

Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

see if it is in Revelations, and the New Testament was NOT written in chronological order (as the epistles were just letters and not sent in any sequence) then...what happens with half of the Bible that was written AFTER Revelations?

If it was in Deuteronomy....WHAT HAPPENS TO THE WHOLE BIBLE AFTER THAT SENTENCE...SINCE THE SCRIPTURE HAPPENS VERY EARLY IN THE OLD TESTAMENT...DOES IT APPLY TO BOTH OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT SCRIPTURES? OR JUST OLD TESTAMENT?

IF I AM TAKING THIS EXTREMELY LITERALLY? THEN WHAT ABOUT PEOPLE WHO TAKE THE SCRIPTURE IN REVELATIONS LITERALLY??

Why do the Jews not rebuild the Temple and reinstate the Levite Priesthood?

If they don't doesn't this conflict with what God has decreed in regards His worship within a Temple?

My question is not so much about actually speaking in tongues, but more about when tongues are spoken, is there not supposed to be an interpretor OR an interpretation? And what is to be made of someone who regularly speaks in tongues, but without interpretation?

do you have anything to show besides your pastor telling you that Jesus' blood invalidated all of the old rules? Please show me a text in the New Testament where it says to not follow the Old Testament Rules.
