I get a lot of mixed answers. I head that there were unicorns in the day of noah but they didn't want to come on board. Why is that? i see a lot of unicorn literature and paintings from the medieval times so i was wondering.

The mark of the beast will be planted in a body area and that will be like a credit card, check, cash etc it is also traceable. Rumor has it that if the mark of the beast is not planted on the body you will lose everything and die or be killed. What would you choose? The mark of the beast which is controlled by the man that will rule the world in every country as well or would you choose death? It is known if the mark of the beast if planted then you are on a one way ticket to hell but if you refuse and die with nothing then its a free ticket to being with God but a new born child can not make the choice how is this? Notice in the movie Futurrama that have a "chip" planted in there hand will this be the mark of the beast or will it just be an actual chip we are meant to have at that point? Think about it.

I CHOOSE DEATH.

I understand the desire to believe in something bigger than yourself---I do! We all fear the finality of death, the idea that one day we will not exist.

One advantage of religions is virtually all of them lay down rules on how to be a good person. Of course we need to have standards like that; I don't argue with that in the least. However, I think (and I know I'm not alone) that it isn't a requisite that you must believe in god to follow these rules. People can still be good and compassionate to their fellow human beings without praising [INSERT NAME HERE].

The Old Testament and the Hebrew Bible are supposed to be the same translation. However, the Old Testament (translated by Christians) was mistranslated to support the New Testament. For example, Isaiah 53 is a prophacy of the coming messiah according to Christians:

“8He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.” Old Testament

“BY OPPRESSION AND JUDGMENT HE WAS TAKEN AWAY, AND WITH HIS GENERATION WHO DID REASON? for he was cut off out of the land of the living, for the transgression of my people TO WHOM THE STROKE WAS DUE.” -Hebrew Bible
.......

"10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand." -Old Testament

but the correct translation states:

Up until 1800, for fourteen hundred years, there is no disputing that the Catholic Church, the Vatican was the single largest and wealthiest economic entity in the world- controlling massive land holdings, huge gold stock piles, multiple treasuries, priceless art and even its own armies and government.

For example, see:
http://one-faith-of-god.org/final_testament/end_of_darkness/truth/truth_0010.htm

However, since the end of the 19th Cent. from the time of Napoleon and the rise of the private and secret banking industry, the position of the Vatican as the no1. largest economic entity has disappeared from public view.

So just how wealthy is the Vatican? Is it still the largest economic entity in the world? how is it able to still keep its incredible wealth hidden? and why? why if it is a force for good does it still keep its wealth hidden?

In Mark we learn through the actions of Jesus that he was constantly turning old traditions into new ones. He proclaimed all animals clean, abolishing the belief that pigs and certain tasty critters were unclean (a belief that inflitrated the Jewish every day life) and he healed the sick, sat with sinners, and help the gentils. He went across the lands, preaching about the good of god. But not once did he say, "Follow the traditions of man." Infact he called those who followed the preceps of man to be ignorant and hypocritical. Now, to state my question without sounding like I am bagging on the church- fellowship and support are an awesome thing. Seclusion, homophobia, slander, and envy are not. The church is where brothers and sisters of faith meet to talk of god and how they can better the world. They are not there to force Christianity on anyone. Pagans, islams, homosexuals are not evil, because we are supposed to believe what we preach, judge no one. Is church a building? Or people

So many people seem to believe that you need a mathematical equation or physical evidence to "prove" or "disprove" that there is a God. Anecdotal evidence - like the millions of people who claim they "feel God's presence" (or don't) and so on - isn't acceptable to these people.

Yet in many sciences, anecdotal evidence is highly valued and is sometimes the only information available. Take psychology as an example. There is no blood test for depression; a shrink diagnoses it by checking off various criteria.

Isn't anecdotal evidence the only thing we have when it comes to matters of spirituality? Just because there's no way to weigh or measure such things doesn't mean they don't exist. We know depression exists because we've (1) defined what it is and (2) know that many people experience the critieria that meet that definition. Could the problem be that we haven't defined what we mean by "God" clearly enough?

I'm an agnostic, by the way, so I'm interested in everyone's thoughts.

I understand that rejecting paganism is a form of accepting the ONE true God. (I won't even bring up the fact that JW's say that Jesus is a lesser god.)

However, there are SO MANY traditions that are still existing today that have pagan roots. But people don't practice these traditions for the same reasons as the pagans. (Unless you are actually a pagan.)

For example, the Watchtower article http://www.watchtower.org/library/g/2002/2/8/diagram_01.htm clearly talks about both flowers and rings during a wedding. Both of those things in a wedding have pagan roots.

I have already seen the rebuttal that Jews used wedding rings...so that makes it nonpagan?? And what about the flowers? The pupose of the flowers at wedding ceremonies is to ask the pagan gods to bless the couple with fertility!!!

If they are going to reject things with pagan roots, shouldn't they reject ALL things with pagan roots????

Salaam (Peace) to all...

Jews, Christians and Muslims alike have, in their Scriptures, accounts of the sojourn of the "Children of Israel" in Egypt, under "Pharaoh"...and on the whole, all three communities consider these accounts to be historical records.

However, as a former Christian, my question has more to do with the Christian view of the Biblical account of this saga.

The book of Exodus is most widely known for its account of the enslavement and subsequent liberation of the Children of Israel from Egypt, by the Hand of God, Himself.

However, in the book of John, Chapter 8, we read:
31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33 They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin...

Okay, I wrote an earlier question without even thinking about the implications of what I wrote. I shall restate my thesis and my opinion and ask others also keep an open mind, even if the earlier question did not leave much to the imagination or intellect. I have rescently come back to the faith, having been sick of the cultural christianity that proclaimed all my friends were going to hell. I am not a troll, a crazy conservative, or cultist. I do not believe that pagans are ignorant savages, or that all people who call themselves Islam are desperatly barking up the wrong tree. I believe in the teachings of Jesus for the fact that they were good teachings, and that if you actually take a pen and history book to the text, you will learn a lot more than just accepting that the pope tells you. I am in charge of my own religion. I won't judge you, if you don't judge me. I just wondered, what other people think about Christianity, as either a culture, tradition, or as another spiritual path
