Does the Bible not say God forced people to spread out and stop in-breeding? And then people spread out but then went right back to in-breeding amongst their new little groups.

Pope Benedict XVI continues to criticize the European Union for not mentioning God and Europe's Christian roots in declarations marking its 50th birthday. The Pope believes that "the continent's Christian roots" should be specifically recognized, saying that a "society in which the Christian conscience does not live anymore loses direction, does not know anymore where to go, ends up empty and bankrupt." Such a conscience was needed to promote justice and a sense of responsibility among one another, he said.

What is the difference between a specifically Christian conscience and any other human conscience? Is the Pope trying to say that Christians are morally superior to everyone else? Do you agree, and if so, how do you justify such an opinion?

There is a famous story in Islamic history books about prophet Muhammed who sent some sick men with one of his servants to drink the urine of his camels. The story tells that after those men drank the camel urine, they killed prophet Muhammed's servant and stole the camels.

The story tells that when prophet Muhamemd learned about what they did, he sent his companions to arrest those people and then he POKED their eyes, CUT OFF their leg and their hands and threw them in the desert until they dies from the heat, hunger and thirst.

Although the men deserved to be killed (at least for killing the servant), was not prophet Muhammad's revenge too harsh and inhumane?

Also, was not that some conflict of interest from him to be the judge and the owner of the stolen camels at the same time?

I read a lot of posts online which criticize the LDS church members for believing that Christ and Lucifer are brothers. I was raised LDS, and I have always known this was the case. I am curious, though, how other denominations teach the pre earth life. Sepcifically I am curious in the understand of the war in Heaven, Rev 12:7-10.
" 7 And there was awar in heaven: bMichael and his cangels fought against the dragon; and the ddragon fought and his angels,
8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in aheaven.
9 And the great dragon was acast out, that old serpent, called the bDevil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
10 And I heard a loud avoice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and bstrength, and the kingdom of our God, and the cpower of his Christ: for the daccuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. "

Thanks.

for those of you who dont know what they are

A blue law, in the United States and Canada, is a type of law designed to enforce moral standards, particularly the observance of Sunday as a day of worship or rest. Most have been repealed or are simply unenforced, although prohibitions on the sale of alcoholic beverages, and occasionally almost all commerce, on Sundays are still enforced in some areas. [1] Blue laws often prohibit an activity only during certain hours and there are usually exceptions to the prohibition of commerce, like grocery and drug stores. In some places blue laws may be enforced due to religious principles, but others are retained as a matter of tradition or out of convenience.

I believe that a person creates their own heaven and hell and they don't have to be dead to be there. Also, one person's hell or heaven is not anothers so it's not necessary that when you die, your loved ones are really there with you. In my opinion, when you die, you are in a dreamlike state and that is part of your heaven/hell...

Yahoo has an article about two people that had to be rescued after falling off a cruise ship. They had to have been doing something stupid to do that. Last week some fat guy had to be rescued after jumping off one. You have to be stupid to do that. I saw a story about a guy that tried to rob a bank, and wrote the hold-up note on the back of one of his own deposit slips. The list can go on and on.

An experiment involving a random event generator and some chicks seem to add to the proof that intense focus (like that used the the Law of Attraction) has an impact on physical reality.

Scientists designed a random event generator (REG) on wheels that rolled randomly either to the left or to the right. It's basically the techological equivalent of a coin toss - about 50% of the time it went left, the other half right.

They disguised this machine as a mother hen and "imprinted" it on some baby chicks so they thought it was their mother. Then the scientists set it up to roll toward and away from them. The machine's inner sensors recorded the number of times it went in each direction.

The experimenters found that the machine defied probablity, rolling toward the chicks far more often than rolling away. Possible explanation: the "intent" or desire of the chicks affected the machine. This was repeated over 80 times by scientists around the world using different chicks.

On 25.3.07 morning I got deeply offended when a local TV telecast a trailer of a Con Evangelist’s ‘Healing Carnival’ that took place in an Indian town. To my alarm I saw Christian Bishops believed to be enlightened and educated planting warm physical kisses on a youthful son Evangelist, who claimed he was one among the two recently God appointed Prophets; the other being his father. I felt the rage because I have written to these Bishops as well as the T V channel not to promote a crowd fleecing Evangelist exploiting their faith. (Ref: http://thedefendersoffaithmovement.blogspot.com) As heads of different divisions of Christianity how morally equipped are these men in holy robes (?) to guide the herd under their care? Iscariot betrayed Christ with a guilty kiss! Here we have multiple Iscariots who not only betray Christ and Christianity, but innocent people immersed in false faiths by kissing men who live by lies. Shouldn’t we fight against these blessings brokers and agents?

I can feel the flames coming from posters already.../sigh.

Ok, so if your child didn't listen to you, you'd punish them right?
Ok, we're clear there.
And if your child continued not to listen to you and still disobey you, you'd continue to punish them.

But at some point would you finally have had enough with them and lock them in a closet with the worst forms of torture possible? Would you leave them in there for eternity?

Of course you wouldn't. You LOVE them!

So why is it that christians speak of God/Jesus and their love..when there's no way in hell ANY father that has love for their children would EVER cast their children into flames of eternal torture for not doing what they're told?

How could you EVER praise a man that would do this to his own children. I'm pretty sure if your neighbor did this, you'd call the cops and have him arrested, so why then would you believe in God who does the same thing?

I am a Christian but there are some things that I don't agree with. I believe you don't have to have religion to be a well-balanced person so I did a study and stopped going to church. I'm still the same me. So why is religion such a big deal to some...And I also believe that as long as one is respectful and modest, the sky is the limit.

Why would God put such a huge significant value on humans? Going to heaven and hell, and none for other animals? This makes no sense at all. Hypothetically speaking, if there are aliens out in the universe with our same level of intelligence or greater! What is to come of them? They have their own messiah, prophet, or whatever loony idea you people may believe?! How can this be? That only humans have a savior, but these other beings do not? Imagine if they are sinner!! Do they have their own messiah? That would mean God has more than one son? Are humans really the most important being in ALL the universe?

I'm going to do something I don't see on around here on yahoo answers. I am going to ask a group I totally disgree with about everything how there day was practicing what they believe in? Even though I'm not Christian and do not believe in that stuff whatsoever, I hope you all had a very good day at church. I was wondering, if we could speak to each other without trying force our opinions on the other or anything like that, but rather asking how thing were? So what happened during your prays and worship songs and everything? Rather not hear about the sermon because we could have a problem tho, but just the overall mood of everyone. :) And by the way, my day as an atheist, taking a nice stroll through the park and enjoying the good weather has been great. I'm still looking for a guy. Tough tho. u know how it is. ;)
