There is a famous story in Islamic history books about prophet Muhammed who sent some sick men with one of his servants to drink the urine of his camels. The story tells that after those men drank the camel urine, they killed prophet Muhammed's servant and stole the camels.

The story tells that when prophet Muhamemd learned about what they did, he sent his companions to arrest those people and then he POKED their eyes, CUT OFF their leg and their hands and threw them in the desert until they dies from the heat, hunger and thirst.

Although the men deserved to be killed (at least for killing the servant), was not prophet Muhammad's revenge too harsh and inhumane?

Also, was not that some conflict of interest from him to be the judge and the owner of the stolen camels at the same time?

Here is one of the many Hadiths:

Sahi Muslim No. 4206:
"A woman came to the prophet and asked for purification by seeking punishment. He told her to go away and seek God's forgiveness. She persisted four times and admitted she was pregnant. He told her to wait until she had given birth. Then he said that the Muslim community should wait until she had weaned her child. When the day arrived for the child to take solid food, Muhammad handed the child over to the community. And when he had given command over her and she was put in a hole up to her breast, he ordered the people to stone her. Khalid b. al-Walid came forward with a stone which he threw at her head, and when the blood spurted on her face he cursed her."

Some will recall the years of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Haj Amin al-Husseini, who spread the rumor that the Jews were going to attack Al Aqsa mosque. That was in 1929 and started the riots that killed hundreds of Jews. The Grand Mufti, Haj Amin al-Husseini, was a close follower of Hitler during WW2, hoping to entice him to bring his Jew-killing mechanisms to Jerusalem. The only condition Husseini set for assisting the Nazis was that, after they won the war, they would murder all the Jews in Palestine. You would not be surprised that Yasser Arafat was a nephew of Uncle Haj Amin al-Husseini. Arafat was born in Cairo named Rahman Abdul Rauf al-Qudwa al-Husseini. Arafat took over the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization), which was established in 1964 by Gamal Abdel Nasser.

From the understanding I have of Muhammod, this would not have happened. I would say that the revenge in that history book was horrible because it was fictional.

Don't believe everything you read.

Barbaric people produce barbaric religious mythology. No surprise there. Christianity and Islam are both good examples.
