Dr. Jonas Salk.
My maternal grandmother had polio as a child and she was lucky she was never paralyzed but she had one leg considerably shorter than the other and that made life very difficult for her.
Dr. Salk's polio vaccine saved many children from going through what my grandmother had to endure; she was very appreciative that her children and grandchildren would never get polio.

God, that's a hard one to answer, there is a lot of people out there I admire. Down to two...Ronald Reagan and Rush Limbaugh.
