I believe that there are all sorts of extra-sensory and psychic abilities build into the brain by God "at the factory".

However - when they are used to "see the future" - I believe God forbids that kind of thing for a reason:

"We walk by faith, not by sight" - - St. Paul of Tarsus.

I've never heard that term before, is this a new invention?

If you mean psychic abilities, sure people have them. It is my belief that long ago when Adam and Eve were kicked from the Garden, their "psychic" abilities were pretty much repressed or taken away altogether, but those functions are deep within our brains, just dormant. On occasion, someone's brain "fires" differently and they get a whiff of what it was to be Adam and have that sort of knowledge.

But it's only a whiff, not the full impact.

Oh, I believe they exist. They are a human talent, usually a modest one, nothing like "Carrie" or "Firestarter". But some people have an ability to empathically pick up on another person's emotions, or to sense occurrences of the future. But they are rightly termed "wild talents", because they are not really controllable, and are never ever as dramatic or interesting as portrayed in fiction.
