I mean there are a lot of people who belong to a certain faith because it was a hand me down. Their parents believe in it so they believe in it. I was just curious. Do you really believe in it or were you told to believe in it. And please no immature answers!

I've heard that the Catholics will have special privileges in heaven, simply because they are more devout. Yet I would like total equality in heaven, if possible. Can I get any info on that?

and then are re-united at the resurrection?
What if I don't want my spirit back? It's always been a little grumpy and stand-offish. Maybe I'll like it better without it....

A few of mine:
let me define evolution for you...
you're ignorance shocks me
pot calling the kettle black
straw man argument!
atheism doesn't equal belief in evolution
you obviously don't understand evolution
look up the Miller/Urey experiment
spaghetti man
anything else pertaining to spaghetti

I know I've missed dozens since atheists have an extensive vocab of 45-50 words there are a lot of these. What is your favorite?

Do you know half of everything?
I didn't think so either..

Let's pretend you know half of everything...
Is it possible that the God (of the bible) you do not believe in could exist in the other half you don't know?

Don't most animals have distinct personalities? Is it not our souls that make us who we are? Where do animal souls go to when the body dies?

Your writing a Gospel, a chapter each day
By the things that you do and the words that you say.
Men hear what you say - and see what you do -
say - what is the Gospel, according to you?

The bible states that when your dead you are dead and at the end of the word then shall the dead rise and their spirits will go as the Lord calls them. So are the spirits that people claim to see, feel or hear the spirits of the devil and his demons at work to fool the people?

And then die, will I go straight to heaven, or lie in my grave until Judgement Day?
As it stands, if I remain Animist, I join my Ancestors in the afterlife as soon as I am dead.
Maybe I'll stick with the status quo.

I was recently at a relatives house and they are mormon. Any time I said bless you they either ignored me or looked at me like I was completely insane. What's the reason for this?

Also, what are some of the differences between a Christian who is Mormon and say a Methodist, Catholic or Baptist Christian?

An athiest, Muslim, Hindu or any non-Catholic who does 'good' deeds all her life, helping others and so on... is it not true that according to Catholic law she will go to hell, whilst a serial killer who repents on his deathbed goes to heaven?

My questions:

1. Is this what the religion officially 'says'?
2. Do people agree with it?
3. How do you decide which bits of your religion to agree with, and which bits not to?
4. Does a "pick 'n' mix" approach undermine faith?
