I was recently at a relatives house and they are mormon. Any time I said bless you they either ignored me or looked at me like I was completely insane. What's the reason for this?
Also, what are some of the differences between a Christian who is Mormon and say a Methodist, Catholic or Baptist Christian?

I believe Mormons and other Christians believe in the same God... it's a little different, but not terribly... and I never said GOD Bless you, I only said bless you. I do not know anything other than that to say after someone sneezes, and I find it more rude to NOT say something at all.

You should just ask them. If you respectfully ask someone about their faith, they usually appreciate your interest. And if God bless you is something weird or off-putting to them, you can make clear that you didn't know.
The main difference between Protestant Christians and Mormon Christians is that Mormons follow the teachings of the prophet Joseph Smith and the revealed word of the Book of Mormon. The gist of it is that one of the tribes of Israel got in boats and sailed to the new world way back when. Then, Jesus after his resurrection came and preached in the Americas.
There are fundamental differences regarding interpretation of the trinity and so forth. However, they still follow Christ and so are Christian.
Catholics are different from Protestants in that the Catholic Bible has more books in it than the Protestant Bible. The Deuterocanonicals are still in the Catholic Bible. Martin Luther and his fellow protestant reformers removed those books from the Bible, stating that they should not have been included in the first place since they are not correct or god inspired. The Catholic church also has a different structure and hierarchy than the Protestant denominations. Catholics are fundamentally different in that they believe that good works are required for salvation and that salvation through Jesus ALONE is not the way. That's where all the absolution and priestly forgiveness comes from - a means to get forgiveness of sins through different works and atonements.
Methodism is a Christian denomination that grew out of the revival of religion led by John Wesley: stresses both personal and social morality and has an Arminian doctrine and, in the U.S., a modified episcopal polity. Episcopal means that it relates to an order of hierarchy involving bishops. Arminian Doctrine is the doctrine that Christ died for all people and not only for the "elect" (some denominations were of the opinion that only a few "elect" could ever be saved).
Baptists are members of a Christian denomination that baptizes believers by "immersion" and that is usually Calvinistic in doctrine. Calvinistic doctrine emphasizes predestination, the sovereignty of God, the supreme authority of the Scriptures, and the irresistibility of grace.
Interesting how we can talk about "Christians" and how the US is a "Christian" nation, yet the 4 denominations that you named have such fundamental differences that it seems to me that if a follower of one was going to have their children subjected to teacher led prayer by a follower of one of the others they would immediately become four-square in favor of separation of church and state....

I don't think most Mormons would respond that way. At least all the one's I know respond respectfully with a thank you or something of the sorts. I guess it just happens to be your relatives. I certainly thank people for saying it, and it doesn't matter if it's "God bless you" or just "bless you". It's nice either way. I also say it when someone sneezes.
The big differences are with the Trinity. Mormons believe God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are all seperate beings instead of one. That seems to get the most debate, but when it comes down to it the Bible could support either belief, and because it's religion we have to respect that.

Well, saying "God bless you" after you sneeze, is an early church superstition. There are several different variations of the superstition, and here's one of them: People used to believe that if you sneezed, there was an evil spirit coming out of you. The "God bless you" was in protection. Another variation of the superstition has to do with not getting the plague. So for people like me who know that, it seems a little silly when you hear people say it to you...but I understand that people are just being nice and polite when they are doing it. Obviously, your mormon relatives aren't thinking about that side of it.

Your "God Bless You" comes from an old superstition - look it up. Some believed that when you sneeze your spirit leaves the body. They believe that when they say God Bless You, it returns to your body. Nowadays, some just consider it polite to say it.
But what does the Bible teach about superstitions?

I'm a mormon and I say Bless you when someone sneezes. And, if someone tell me, "Bless you" when I sneeze I usually tell them Thank-you and that I can use as many blessings as possible.

Well, I am Mormon and I say bless you when a person sneezes...I don't think it's a big deal... it is true though that it was an old superstition...
Maybe it was just that person, don't worry too much about it.
When my nephew was younger and he sneezed he would look at his mom and say "bless me mom" it was cute.

WOW a lot of questions in your question. To get into all of the relative answers you would practicaly need to write a huge huge book. It would be too difficult to contrast and compare every religion.
The next time your mormon person sneezes JUST SAY UTAH!

i think of the well mannered ingredient to do is say thank you. Why might you be offended if somebody mentioned "bless you" to you? reward do not inevitably might desire to be religious. in case you hear somebody sneeze, purely forget approximately approximately it if it offends you plenty to declare bless you, or say Salud. human beings will ask you what it potential, and that is going to be a solid communique starter.

Perhaps that is just your family. There are no superstitions or beliefs that tell Mormons not to say "Bless you."
*I'm not even religious and I still say it. I think it comes down to whether or not people have common courtesy.
