Nothing in the universe is there to exist and live forever. Even the earth we now know and live in will surely have its end. Compare the earth size to one living human, maybe we are even a hundred times smaller than the size of ant if will consider how big is the earth. Scale the proportion of our life span to the earth, you will find that earth's life will stay very much longer before it expires unless some catastrophic event may happen and it may be shortened. What I am driving at is that nothing really exist forever. For some enlightenment you need maybe it's not the "Live to die" thing that you should focus your mind on. Instead, live a meaningful and useful life each moment everyday. Do not worry so much about what is going to happen tomorrow nor sulk upon the wasted time you did yesterday; strive to make every moment a moment to achieve something in a day no matter how great or small. Do not also think that you did it today because tomorrow you may die but think of tomorrow it as another day to thank and a to live anew. In the Buddhic mind however, death is just part of life that goes on a cycle of death, birth and rebirth, the ultimate is when you are able to surpass those when you reach Nirvana and your life will no longer experience those stages of ignorance and you are then enlightened.

It is the nature of Life and Death. These are not opposing forces, but two phases of the same thing. All life requires death to continue (food, nutrients) and all that lives must die. Life and Death depend upon and create each other.

This philosophy also follows the law of conservation of energy: nothing is either created nor destroyed, it merely changes form.

So where's the bright spot? Well, the universe may be infinite, but our planet and habitat is not. If the old does not die away, there will not be room for the new. And life keep renewing, because that's its job. So it causes death. While we may be sorry to see some things go, new things will arrive in its place. It is all part of the innate harmony of the universe.

Birth and death are two ends of the same continuum. We are not born to die but everything that is born does die sooner or later. You can't have one without the other. The good news is the awareness that is you was never born and will never die only the forms that arise within the awareness come and go.

We're born to die because Adam and Eve fell into sin, paving the way for the rest of mankind to be born into sin as well. The punishment for sin is death, both physical and spiritual. Which in fact, is why we need Jesus Christ. He died on the cross to redeem us of those sins. However, it's a gift. We have to receive it if we want to spend eternity with God. Mankind also has the free will to reject that gift, which most folks seemed to have done thus far.

Birth and death are the process which continue like a cycle.

We are born, indirectly we are given an opportunity to get out of this cycle and be permenantly free from all the worldly things. We die because our time for the opportunity is limited during which we have to seek abouit aour real soul.
We die and then we take birth as another living being.Maybe a butterfly, cow, dog anything. It happens because we haven't utilized the time iven to us.

Birth and death has kept on happening and will kepp on happening,It is we who have to get out of this.

Romans 6:23 states- "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." This is the best answer, because it is the word of God, not my opinion. If we had never sinned- beginning with Adam and Eve then we would never die. However, God loves us so much that even in our sin, God sent His Son to pay the price that we could never pay so that when we do die on this earth we will live eternally with Him. Hallelujah to the Lamb.

that saying "we are born to die" is very broad. to be more specific, i believe that we are born to live our life. doesn't that make more sense? then when we die, we are in the presence of God. so...i would think since thats the case, the two major points are being born and dying because we have to be born to die and we have to die to be in Gods physical presence...its not the only way but its the sure fire way.

We are not born to die. 1+1=3? We are born to live.

Only our mortal bodies die...Our spirits cannot die.

We are born to live, we have a physical body and accountability, and trough this life we gain understanding of love, life, pain, joy, sadness, anger, etc. And when our bodies age and die, or die for other reasons, we gain our spritual body back. Loose your life and you shall find your life.

This is an odd question. Is a hammer's purpose to pound nails, or eventually rust and get thrown away? Is a computer's purpose to provide greater access to information, or to eventually die and get thrown away?

You define end of purpose as a purpose in and of itself. This is rather odd.
