If you look around, you will see that it is not compulsory. No one likes being told what to believe, and those that even try are condemned because everyone has their own opinions and free will to do with their lives as they wish.
Anyone who tries pushing their beliefs onto someone else when they are not welcomed is in themselves, diverted from thier own religious path.

No it is not compulsory because every human being is given a choice to believe in what they want.

No it is not compulsory and God only wants people that come to him willingly, a forced belief is no belief.
but let me give you this to think about, "I would rather life my life believing there is a God and find out there is not one , than to live life as if there is no God and find out There is a God"

Of course not. God does not want compulsory worship. It's why he created us with free will.

Jesus did say, however, in his Sermon on the Mount that "happy are those conscious of their spiritual need."

For me it is because of the way I look at life. When I think about all the thousands of different forms of life on one planet that all have different objectives they must reach and see that the things they all have in common is to strive to live, reproduce and die. That is enough for me to know that there is a creator and that it is all by design and because of the design there has to be a designer and there for I am compelled to believe.

Let go the past,
Let go the future,
and let go what is in between, transcending the things of time.
With your mind free in every direction, you will not return to birth and aging. -Buddha
Yes. God is in all things, so to truly believe in Him, trust in His divine will, is to be worthy of heaven. Otherwise you have to keep coming back, and learning again & again.:o]
We all have our own spiritual journeys.

Of course not! Although many believers seem to act that way when dealing with those of us who have a naturalistic world-view - i.e. free of supernatural and mystical elements.

But without separation of Church & State, it might get that way.

We all have an inner spirit that needs to connect to something higher than ourselves. some people just get it mixed up and worship the wrong things.
