I had previously posted this question here:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylt=AmaRTceLKj_aGiof9jXpL4fd7BR.?link=ask&menu=396545163

The majority of the responses from Christians said one version of the four following comments as to the PURPOSE of life:
1) to make the ultimate decision as to whether or not we worship God.
2) to spread the word/tell others so they can avoid hell.
3) to know, love and serve God.
4) to live a happy existence.

Now, the Christian God is allegedly omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient. Shouldnt this all powerful God not have ANY needs? Not having any needs thus negates our existence. In other words, had God NOT created mankind, there would be no need to make an ultimate decision, to tell others, to know/love/serve God, or to be happy.

So, again, I ask the Christians, what is the purpose of our lives? Why did God create us? If it was to fulfill some need, then the God cannot be all powerful, as he is needy. RIGHT?

Ok we have all heard that suicides don't goto heaven right instead they go to nothing to be nothing and whatever well if this is true why did jesus get away with it? JESUS commited suicide why is he special and not us? my reasoning for thinking he did commit suicide is pretty simple based on the fact he knew he was gonna die he might of not died by his own hand but he knew it was comming and instead of fighting it he accepted the fact and went with it in my book thats the same as suicide so my question is do you think suicide is damnable?

All right now, what I would like to know is this. Why is it that almost every Christian I've met feels the need to be obscenely ignorant to other possibilities,do they not realize that their faith is just another one of these possibilities??I can understand that religions require a blind faith, however, does that also mean that they should ignore reason??or is it just another case of 'Ignorance is Bliss'??Do they not realize how, sorry to say it,stupid and childish it makes them seem???Should they not have an open mind when it comes to anything to do with life and existence??

I'm pretty much looking for sites which offer general info on correspondences, herbs, astrology, divination, gems/rocks/crystals, spell ideas, etc.

What are some websites that have reliable information concerning spells? I'm looking for sites that are well organized as well as having solid info.
Thank you!

Example: A girl is overweight, she doesn’t like how she looks.
The Secret says: You have to learn to love yourself, appreciate what you are now, this way you open yourself up to receive more “good”.
The Secret also says: You should visualize, think, feel, believe etc. the things that you want, i.e. you are thin.

But: how does an overweight girl love her body and visualize/believe that she is thin at the same time?

I love The Secret movie, I just don’t understand how this part can work.

Please explain why that is acceptable...does not captial punishment qualitfy to be covered by the law... "Thou shall not kill"? Wouldn't advocates for Captial Punishment then be guilty of breaking one of the very Laws they profess to follow?

I'm not religious, but I've always felt that religion can have a lot of good in it for many people. Something spiritual. Buddhist and Pagans for example seem very focussed on spiritual issues in my opinion.

But what I hear, see and read from Christianity and Islam has in my eyes hardly anything to do with spirituality anymore. It all seems to be about rules, rules, rules. And mainly silly old rules that hardly apply in these days anymore.

What is the true spirit of both religions these days? It can't be all about trying to force outdated morals onto people, I hope?

So, far I am getting a clearer picture what God looks like. Last night I was with a false Jesus in a white robe, but He was a hippie Jesus, then I was with a similar Jesus in a white robe, but felt the comfort of being with this Jesus that He is really my Lord & Savior, because of the way I felt on the inside in my dream.

The other day, Father God gave me a vision of him. I have asked Him questions this year. He was a Mr. Flex muscle arm & chest in a bright cloud. Then a far vision where He was a shimering essence & eye twinkle wink to me. He is bronze/ brass colored, yet bright. So Father God is sooo strong, sooo bright & sooo smart.

Has anybody else prayed to God about the way God looks? And got a dream or vision?

All life come from the woman - I have a belly button that was severed from my mother. But Christians say that woman are the reason for all the woes in the world. She was the reason Adam sinned and that is why she has a period and cramps. How could woman accept this Male superiority theory??? I believe that Men and woman are equal - therefore I can not accept the story myself. What do you think?

The following Gedankenexperiment asks you to look into the future. Say, 50-75 years.

Currently we see a trend globally of modern religions incorporating the Theory of Evolution into their teachings. We see religious organizations joining forces to fight drugs and efforts to help the hungry and homeless.

So, peering ahead 50-75 years, will there be a religious body/movement that will be spearheading a new age for the world, one of scientific discoveries and one where there is justice for people, and people are well fed and sheltered, and live in neighborhoods crime and drug free?

They claim that they have read and researched and have studied all of the religions in the world to come to justify their disbelief.

They are so determined to make the point that God is not real, that they would actually say that Jesus never lived.

You learn this in History class.

Where do you get your infomation.

For all who have said this, you are very misinformed!

here is a link to an interesting article about this situation. from what i read, i think they were a little harsh on the guy. i think critical thinking is an important characteristic to help determine an answer, or to give it credibility. maybe they didn't provide enough details in this article for me to really know what happened, but did it really hurt these kids for 8 days to learn about another possiblity? the guy says he wasn't "teaching" creationism, just giving a different point of view. what do you think?

If he would have it that all men should believe in him and no one should perish, why would he create little deceits? I see comments here and there and everywhere about God's geological, archeological and paleontological traps that he has designed to test our faith. Isn't life hard enough without a creator who isn't completely honest with us? Considering the consequences for not believing, it sounds to me like kind of a rotten thing to do.

"I think I'll make the world appear to be several billions years old, I just need to put a few confusing clues here and there, create the complete illusion that life evolved by itself, that will weed out the thinking crowd, he he he."

Does this sound like the kind of God you'd want to worship?

Can one believer please give a single explanation why this kind of behaviour is not rather unbecoming of a loving God?
