There are a lot of different religions out there, and each one would answer your question in a different way. Before you set out to discover the meaning of life, it's a good idea to get to know yourself first. I know that may sound odd, but it is important for you to become self-aware. If you're stressed, take a step back and look at yourself. What do you want out of life? What drives you? Who are you? The answers to those questions should help you decide which religion best fits the way you view the world. Like it or not, people choose the religion they believe; the religion does not choose them.

You say ' I want peace of mind'. Now remove the 'I', remove the 'want' and see what is remaining. It is peace of mind. Now this 'I' is ego or selfishness and 'want' is desire. When you jettison the ego and relinquish desire, you will have peace of mind. This is how sri sai baba has explained. Secondly you ask 'why you are here' and the purpose of your presence here. You have lost your originality. i.e., your identity as God. Hence you have come to the earth to get rid of your ignorant thought that you are the body, mind complex. Your reality is God. Understand this and meditate on this truth. nagarajan.

Your purpose, the reason you are here is for one thing and one thing only. To make up your mind, whether you will love God or satan. Thats it. The only way to peace of mind is to put God first. Don't worry over earthey things, like jobs, money, cars, clothes. All them things are tempral, and meaningless. God will take care of you. Just put Him first.

Give it over to God. It is very difficult to understand Spiritual things unless we want it and it is revealed to us by God. He will sent the Holy Spirit if you let Him. The Spirit will come to you when you least expect it.

Piece of mind is to forgive yourself for the times you missed the mark of being a good person.

Your purpose is to; Know, Love and Serve God. Amen
