stop chariots of iron?

Sorry, sorry, I keep forgetting that Christians don't know anything about the bible.

Judges 1:19 And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

Well, those chariots were really heavy, you know, and they had spikes on the wheels that kind of hurt, and God was feeling pretty tired that day, so he decided to let them off with a stiff warning just that once.

Depending on what version of the bible you're reading from, in the NIV this passage Judges 1:19, reads as follows: The Lord was with the men of Judah. They took possesion of the hill country, but THEY (refering to the men of Judah not the Lord) were unable to drive the people from the plains because they had iron chariots. If it was God's will it would have been done. Look back one book to Joshua. Joshua 17: 16-18,
if you are in the King James version it will read a little differently although it says the same thing. 16- The people of Joesph replied, "The hill country is not enough for us, and all the Canaanites who live in the plain have iron chariots, both those in Beth Shan and its settlements and those in the valley of Jezreel." 17- But Joshua said to the house of Joeseph- to Ephraim and Manasseh- "You are numerous and very powerful. You will have not only one allotment 18- but the forested hill country as well. Clear it, and it's farthest limits will be yours; though the Canaanites have iron chariots and though they are strong, you can drive them out." If you continue on through this book (Judges) you will find that it was the Israelites who disobeyed God and did not drive out the Canaanites, so the Lord told them since they disobeyed him he would not drive them out. See Judges 2:1-5. If you cannot find your answer to this question there my brother then start at Genesis 1: and read who our creator is. May God's grace through the Holy spirit open your eyes and ears and allow you to see and hear for yourself the awsome power of our creator. Never question the word of the Lord, you can not just read one passage and come to a conclusion about God, but if you do may he have mercy on you.

He can if that is his will.

Example: Moses and the parting of the sea, cherubim of fire, etc.
